Article Abstract

Multiresolution analysis of heart rate variability derived from aortic blood pressure, acquired before and after (30 and 60 min) experimental fetal cardiac bypass performed on five ewe's fetuses, was used to investigate the physiological response to an invasive clinical approach. Tachograms were implemented and analyzed by wavelet transform in order to verify the existence of a quantitative relationship between arterial blood gases and time series in the very-low (0.021

Temporary disturbances in brain function are caused by epilepsy, a chronic disorder resulting from sudden abnormal firing of brain neurons. This research introduces an innovative real-time methodology representing detecting epileptic spasms from electroencephalogram (EEG) data. It employs a support vector machine (SVM) alongside embedded zero tree wavelet (EZW) transform.

There is significant interest in using texture features to extract hidden image-based information. In medical imaging applications using radiomics, AI, or personalized medicine, the quest is to extract patient or disease specific information while being insensitive to other system or processing variables. While we use digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) to show these effects, our results would be generally applicable to a wider range of other imaging modalities and applications.

Non-invasive health monitoring technologies increasingly attract attention as they allow for continuous, comfortable vital sign monitoring. However, contactless sensing of vital signs using radar systems has significant challenges in accurately extracting physiological information from noisy signals, especially when subjects move freely. This study introduces a novel framework that combines Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Empirical Wavelet Transform (EWT) to estimate respiratory rate (RR) from radar signals under free-movement conditions.

Tissue microarrays (TMAs) enable researchers to analyse hundreds of tissue samples simultaneously by embedding multiple samples into single arrays, enabling conservation of valuable tissue samples and experimental reagents. Moreover, profiling TMAs allows efficient screening of tissue samples for translational and clinical applications. Multiplexed imaging technologies allow for spatial profiling of proteins at single-cell resolution, providing insights into tumour microenvironments and disease mechanisms.

The complex pore structure of carbonate rocks often results in scattered data in the relationship between formation resistivity factor (FRF) and porosity, posing significant challenges for accurate reservoir characterization. Although traditional methods have been useful, they exhibit limitations in reducing data variability particularly in capturing the critical interaction between the cementation factor and porosity. The Electrical Zone Indicator (EZI) represents a methodological advancement; however, greater precision is needed to achieve comprehensive rock typing resolution.
