In the presence of mixed surfactant cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTMAB) and Tween80, the photometric analysis properties of color reaction of 3,5-dibronosalicyl fluorone (DBSAF) with tungsten(VI) were studied. The experimental result showed that tungsten(VI) reacted with DBSAF to form a micelle complex with a maximum absorption at 527 nm in a 0.60 mol x L(-1) hydrochloric acid medium. The mixed surfactant remarkably improved the sensitivity of the method and the dissolubility of the complex. The apparent molar absorptivity of the complex is 2.64 x 10(5) L x mol(-1) x cm(-1) at 527 nm. Tungsten (VI) reacted with DBSAF to form a complex with a stoichiometric ratio of 1:2, which was determined by mole ratio method and continual method of transformation, respectively. Beer's law was obeyed in the range of 0-400 microg tungsten (VI) per L. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of trace amount of tungsten in alloy steel samples.

Drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia (DIIHA) is a rare secondary cause of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA), more frequently associated with drugs such as cephalosporins, penicillin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and certain chemotherapeutic agents. The condition is often underdiagnosed due to marked variability in antibody type and affinity, resulting in inconsistent serological findings. Such delays increase the risk of hemolytic crisis, which may result in target end-organ failure or death.

An Ag-functionalized structural color hydrogel (Ag-SCH) sensor is constructed for colorimetric detection of glutathione (GSH). The hydrogel is prepared by using the coordination of Ag and 1-vinylimidazole (1-VI) as cross-linking network. GSH acts as a competitive ligand to break the coordination between Ag and 1-VI, leading to the expansion and structural color change of the hydrogel.

Quantum dots (QDs) converted to micro light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have emerged as a promising technology for next-generation display devices. However, their commercial application has been hindered by the susceptibility of QDs to photodegradation when directly exposed to an open environment. Here, we develop functional ligand zinc bis[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] phosphate (Zn(BMEP)) to passivate QD surface anions through a phosphine-mediated surface reaction.

Mechanical stimuli have been shown to dynamically alter solid-liquid interfaces and induce electron transfer, enabling catalytic reactions, most notably contact-electro-catalysis (CEC). However, the underlying mechanism of charge transfer at solid-liquid interfaces under mechanical stimulation remains unclear, particularly at semiconductor-liquid interfaces. To date, rare studies have reported on the catalytic activity of semiconductor-liquid interfaces under mechanical stimulation.

A series of 2-substituted 4H-chromen-4-ones 3a-3h containing triphenylamine or N-phenylcarbazole on the benzene ring were synthesized for the first time via the Suzuki coupling reaction. The photophysical properties of the compounds and their relationship to the structure of the compounds were investigated by methods such as spectroscopic analysis, single-crystal analysis, and theoretical calculations. The systematic results indicate that compounds 3a-3h have intramolecular charge transfer (ICT), aggregation-induced emission (AIE), and dual-state emission (DSE) effects with a wide range of fluorescence emission wavelengths (421-618 nm), showing the potential to be developed into a full-color fluorophore.
