A whole-brain male mouse atlas of long-range inputs to histaminergic neurons.

The precise structural and functional characteristics of input circuits targeting histaminergic neurons remain poorly understood. Here, using a rabies virus retrograde tracing system combined with fluorescence micro-optical sectioning tomography, we construct a 3D monosynaptic long-range input atlas of male mouse histaminergic neurons. We identify that the hypothalamus, thalamus, pallidum, and hippocampus constitute major input sources, exhibiting diverse spatial distribution patterns and neuronal type ratios.

Modified cell-permeable nucleosides such as 5-bromouridine 5'-triphosphate (BrUTP) or 5-ethynyluridine (5-EU), together with the powerful click chemistry, have been widely used to specifically label newly synthetized RNA in cells and tissues in a simple two-step approach. The use of cellular transcription inhibitors has established metabolic RNA labeling as an optimal approach for the precise visualization of viral RNA transcripts and the microscopic analysis of their distribution in infected cells. The labeling of nascent viral RNA of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other Mononegavirales (MNV) (e.

The detection of viral gene fragments is essential for diagnosing and screening viral infections, managing virus transmission, and controlling epidemics. In this study, we developed an isothermal amplification-bridged DNA switch designed for the sensitive detection of viral gene fragments. Specifically, the binding of the target viral gene fragment to the recognition sequences triggers isothermal amplification, resulting in the production of multiple DNA products.

Background: Rabies is a fatal viral infection with clinical presentation that can mimic other neurological disorders, such as Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). Both conditions can present in early stages with same signs, including muscle weakness and paralysis, leading to diagnostic confusion. In this case report, we present a patient residing in Palestine who was initially diagnosed with GBS but was later found to have rabies.

mRNA vaccines for infectious diseases prevent diseases by stimulating the body to produce specific immune responses through mRNA molecules encoding pathogenic proteins. Compared to traditional vaccines (e.g.
