Acrodermatitis continua of Hallopeau (ACH) is a rare aseptic pustular dermatosis for which clinical guidelines are lacking and treatment is largely based on case reports. Biologically targeted therapies offer new therapeutic ideas, with TNF antagonists such as adalimumab showing promising efficacy in both adults and children. The IL-17 and IL-23 axes play a key role in the pathogenesis of ACH, and anti-IL-17A and anti-IL-23 antibodies have shown therapeutic efficacy.

However, their use increases the resistance and dead space volume of the breathing circuit, which potentially leads to asynchrony events, especially when patients are receiving jet nebulization. However, the impact of respiratory filter resistance on respiratory mechanics and human-machine synchronization during invasive ventilation with jet nebulization is not clear.

Introduction: Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) is a common chronic recurrent skin disease characterized by sterile pustules on the palms and soles of the feet. Most patients with PPP have a rash that improves during pregnancy due to the influence of estrogen and progesterone, but relatively few have an exacerbation of the rash during pregnancy.
Case Introduction: Here, we show a female patient diagnosed with PPP, whose rash worsened during pregnancy and gestation.

Background: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of percutaneous ethanol and calcitriol injection therapy for hyperparathyroidism (HPT), while taking into account the efficacy, safety and feasibility as an ambulatory procedure alternative to surgical parathyroidectomy.
Methods: We included nine patients who underwent percutaneous injection therapy for HPT from January 2018 to December 2021 in our institution. They were followed up from date of first percutaneous injection until death or October 2022 (mean duration of 9.
SAPHO syndrome is an inflammatory disorder with bone and cutaneous manifestations, for which whole-body bone scintigraphy (WBBS) is frequently used in diagnosis. The WBBS findings of SAPHO syndromes and secondary bone tumors (SBT) have overlapping features, posing diagnostic challenges. In this multicenter study, we aim to identify different bone and joint involvement patterns between the two disease entities through multiple methods to build machine-learning models and explore interpretable variables.

Puerarin has been used in the treatment of diabetes and derives benefits from its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and pro-angiogenesis properties, but its efficacy is hampered by poor water solubility and bioavailability.

This study investigates the red blood cell distribution width (RDW)-to-peripheral oxygen saturation ratio (RSR) as a predictor of all-cause mortality in critically ill OSA patients using the MIMIC-IV database.
Methods: We extracted clinical data from 3237 critically ill OSA patients in MIMIC-IV (version 3.

Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with recurrent erythema, scales, and sterile pustules on the palms and soles. Treating PPP in children is difficult due to limited effective therapies, especially as there's a lack of data on upadacitinib use in children under 12.This article reports a pediatric PPP case.

The 3-year-old proband exhibited systemic pustules leading to a GPP diagnosis, while his 6-year-old sister developed nail ulcers and subungual pustules characteristic of ACH. Despite standard treatments, their conditions were refractory.

However, their rapid capacity decay and slow kinetics primarily caused by harmful phase transitions and a high energy barrier for Na diffusion result in inferior battery performance. Herein, we modulate the crystal structure of layered oxide cathodes by replacing the Fe site with Al, which strengthens the transition metal layers and enlarges the Na translation layer owing to the smaller ion radius of Al and the stronger bonding energy of Al-O.

We retrospectively analysed 135 patients diagnosed with ISI between 2008 and 2020, comprehensively evaluating clinical characteristics, laboratory test outcomes, pathological examination results, and magnetic resonance images (MRI). Among the 135 patients with ISI, 90 (66.

Behcet's disease is a rare, chronic inflammatory disorder that can affect various organs, with large vessel involvement being particularly uncommon. This case report discusses a 17-year-old male with Behcet's disease who presented with a rapidly enlarging, painful mass in the right groin region, later diagnosed as a femoral artery aneurysm. The patient underwent successful surgical intervention and was subsequently managed with immunosuppressive therapy to prevent relapse.

In this editorial, we comment on the article by Liu . Based on our analysis of a case report, we consider that early screening and recognition of primary nasal tuberculosis are crucial for patients undergoing treatment with tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi). While TNFi therapy increases the risk of reactivating latent tuberculosis, primary nasal tuberculosis remains rare due to the protective mechanisms of the nasal mucosa.

Objective: The aim of the study was to explore the influence of the measurement plane on regional lung function assessed via electrical impedance tomography (EIT).
Methods: The forced vital capacity (FVC) maneuver was prospectively performed in 30 healthy male volunteers. Simultaneously, EIT measurements were conducted at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th intercostal spaces (ICS).
Tumour immunotherapy represented by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has greatly improved the overall prognosis of patients with malignant tumours, and is regarded as an important breakthrough in the field of medicine in recent years. ICIs have gradually become the core of tumour therapy and are increasingly used in the clinic. In order to achieve early clinical prediction and management of immune-related adverse events (irAEs), it is still necessary to perform further research on the mechanisms, risk factors, and predictors of irAE occurrence in the future.
