Solar photovoltaic cells urgently require transparent antifouling coating to ensure the stable operation of photovoltaic modules. However, the self-cleaning property, environmental friendliness, transparency, and mechanical durability are mutually exclusive. We prepared a waxed fluorine-free superlubricating coating (SLC) with ultrahigh transparency (97.

In addition, it builds a bridge for molecular breeding and accurate identification of quantitative trait loci (QTLs). In this study, to construct an rice library of single-segment substitution lines (SSSLs) spanning the whole genome, a rice CSSL-Z691 carrying four substitution segments (4.

Here, a wide-grain rice chromosome segment substitution line (CSSL), Z708, carrying four substitution segments from Jinhui35 in the genetic background of Xihui18, was used to identify the QTL associated with grain size. Seven QTL for yield-related traits (, , , , , , and ) were identified on the substitution segments of the fourth and fifth chromosomes of Z708.

Aqueous cationic polymerization has attracted considerable interest as a novel polymerization technique, because it conforms to the "green chemistry" trend and challenges the concept of traditional cationic polymerization. In this paper, a CumOH/B(CF)/EtO system was used to initiate the aqueous polymerization of -methylstyrene through suspension and emulsion methods. Several types of surfactants were used, including the cationic surfactant CTAB, non-ionic surfactant NP-40, and anionic surfactant SDBS, and the influences of initiator concentration and temperature on polymerization were investigated.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFog collection plays an important role in alleviating the global water shortage. Despite great progress in creating bionic surfaces to collect fog, water droplets still could adhere to the microscale hydrophilic region and reach the thermodynamic stable state before falling, which delays the transport of water and hinders the continuous fog collection. Inspired by lotus leaves and cactuses, we designed a Janus membrane that functions to both collect fog from the air and transport it to a certain region.

Biomaterial-associated infections caused by pathogenic bacteria have important implications on human health. This study presents the design and preparation of a smart surface with pH-responsive wettability. The smart surface exhibited synergistic antibacterial function, with high liquid repellency against bacterial adhesion and highly effective bactericidal activity.

Inspired by the aligned structures of moisture responsive pineal scales, an oil-triggered Janus actuator composed of a smooth hydrophobic surface and a superhydrophobic surface with aligned microchannels by simple laser etching was fabricated successfully, which can deform into various desirable shapes and recover to the original shape when triggered by oil and ethanol molecules. The aligned microchannel design causes different oil spread distances in the longitudinal and transverse directions, resulting in orientation-controlled bending and twisting with large-scale displacement.

The long-term outcome of laparoscopic surgery for geriatric patients with colorectal cancer remains unclear due to decreased functional reserves and increased medical comorbidities. A meta-analysis was performed in the present study to compare the long-term outcome between laparoscopy and laparotomy. Randomized controlled trials and comparative studies regarding laparoscopy vs.

The functional MOF as the sensor is constructed by one-step synthesis Ce-MOF and sequentially modified on the Au electrode and conjugated with the aptamer of ATP. The presence of target ATP leads to the conformational change of aptamer strands and strong electrochemical impedance.

Interestingly, a novel electrostatic DNA self-assembly could realize hybridization chain reaction (HCR) on the surface of PCMSNs in single cells. Significantly, a non-destructive amplification strategy based on ONAAs-PCMSNs was successfully developed for miRNA detection and in situ imaging by the prominent and agminated fluorescence-bright spots in living cells.

However, rolling Mg alloys can be difficult due to their poor plasticity, and the strong texture yielded from rolling often results in poor plate forming ability, which limits their further engineering applications. Here we report a new hard-plate rolling (HPR) route which achieves a large reduction during a single rolling pass.
