Perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl compounds (PFASs) represent a category of synthetic chemicals renowned for their environmental persistence. Owing to their hydrophobic, oleophobic, and high-temperature-resistant properties, PFASs are extensively utilized in industrial, agricultural, and civilian sectors, including applications in leather, textiles, flame-retardant materials, lubricants, and coatings, among others. PFASs can accumulate within the human body, exhibiting multi-organ toxicity.

Growing evidence suggests a connection between AGA and metabolic disorders. Leveraging unbiased serum metabolomics, a strikingly differentiated metabolic signature in AGA patients compared to healthy controls is identified, with arginine deficiency exhibiting the most pronounced reduction among all amino acids.

In recent years, visual cancer information retrieval using Artificial Intelligence has been shown to be effective in diagnosis and treatment. Especially for a modern liver-cancer diagnosis system, the automated tumor annotation plays a crucial role. So-called tumor annotation refers to tagging the tumor in Biomedical images by computer vision technologies such as Deep Learning.

New Information: A new genus, , is established, based on a new species from Guizhou Province, southwest China: (♂). This is the second Asian genus of Trechaleidae.
Objectives: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), however, the evidence is limited. This study aimed to explore the associations between PFAS in the follicular fluid and PCOS, as well as the mediating role of steroid hormones.
Methods: Forty women with PCOS undergoing treatment for infertility and 56 control participants were included in this study.
Aims: To study the clinicopathological, immunohistochemical and molecular features of carcinoma arising in microglandular adenosis (MGACA) of the breast.
Methods: Clinicopathological features of 13 cases of MGACA were analysed. All tumours were molecular subtype by immunohistochemistry (IHC) of AR, CD8, FOXC1 and DCLK1 expression.

Objectives: We explored Trichorhinophalangeal syndrome type 1 (TRPS1) expression in special types of breast carcinoma, and analyzed the correlation between TRPS1 and androgen receptor (AR) expression in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
Methods: TRPS1 expression was analyzed in 801 patients with special types of breast carcinoma. A total of 969 TNBC were used to analyze the correlation between the expression of TRPS1 and AR.
The Meso-Rex bypass (MRB) is recognized as an effective treatment for portal hypertension secondary to extrahepatic portal vein occlusion (EHPVO) both in the pediatric and adult population, within or outside the context of liver transplantation. It is the preferred surgical treatment in most centers because not only does it addresses the portal hypertension, but also restores physiologic portal hepatopetal flow. However, the Rex recess, the landmark for this technique, may not be safely accessible in some patients.

However, the recurrence remains an urgent challenge to be addressed. Currently, most of the descriptions of skin T-cell characteristics in psoriasis are derived from lesional and non-lesional skin, and their characteristics in resolved lesions (clinically healed lesions) remain vague.

In particular, image recognition using deep learning has been shown to be very effective for cancers and diseases. In these fields, scaphoid fracture recognition is a hot topic because the appearance of scaphoid fractures is not easy to detect.

It is a complex natural phenomenon that will cause structural and functional decline. Despite substantial progress in understanding the mechanism of ageing, both predictive biomarkers and preventive therapies remain limited.

This retrospective study aimed to quantitatively evaluate the attenuation in Hounsfield units (HU) on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) as a prognostic factor for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) following liver transplantation as a treatment. Our goal is to optimize its predictive ability for early tumor recurrence and compare it with the other imaging modality-positron emission tomography (PET).

Background: Human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) are essential in the processes of skin ageing and wound healing. However, the underlying mechanism of HDFs in skin healing of the elderly has not been well defined. This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms of HDFs senescence and how senescent HDFs affect wound healing in aged skin.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute cellular rejection (ACR) is a significant immune issue among recipients following liver transplantation. Although diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) is widely used for diagnosing liver disease, it has not yet been utilized for monitoring ACR in patients after liver transplantation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of DWI in monitoring treatment response among recipients with ACR.

Background And Aim: The REgistry of Selective Internal radiation therapy in AsiaNs (RESIN) was a multicenter, single-arm, prospective, observational study of Y resin microspheres in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) from Taiwan. RESIN is the first real-life clinical study of this therapy in an Asian cohort. Study objectives were to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Y resin microspheres.

Aim: To compare the effectiveness of drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) with different particle sizes in bridging and downstaging in pretransplant hepatocellular carcinoma patients. Assess the recurrent and survival rates after living donor liver transplantation (LDLT).
Methods: Retrospective review of 580 patients who underwent TACE using DEB from August 2012 to June 2020 at Taiwan Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
Aims: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive patients with breast cancer may have different HER2/CEP17 ratios and HER2 copy numbers, with inconsistent responses to anti-HER2 neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). Our study aimed to explore the relationship between different HER2 fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) patterns in HER2-positive patients with breast cancer and responses to anti-HER2 NACT.
Methods: 527 patients with HER2-positive invasive breast cancer who received anti-HER2 NACT from 2015 to 2022 were included and divided into three groups by FISH results, namely group A: HER2/CEP17<2.
Purpose: Despite technological and immunologic innovations, some living-donor liver transplant (LDLT) recipients still face poor liver regeneration. Sarcopenia is often recognized as a biomarker for poor outcomes in surgical patients. This study aimed to evaluate associations between sarcopenia and liver regeneration in LDLT recipients.
