Nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as powerful tools in modern medicine, but their clinical translation has been hindered by issues such as rapid immune clearance, limited targeting, and off-target toxicity. Recent advances in cell membrane-coated nanoparticles (CM-NPs) provide an innovative solution by combining synthetic nanocarriers with natural cell membrane functionalities.

Here, 5 wt% Cr cold-work tool steel (Caldie) was developed by reducing carbon and chromium to suppress coarse carbide formation and by increasing molybdenum and vanadium to enhance dimensional stability. In this study, Caldie tool steel was fabricated via DED for the first time, and the effects of post-heat treatment on its hierarchical microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated and compared with those of wrought (reference) material.

BackgroundThe Scapular Dyskinesis Test (SDT) is typically conducted using either real-time visual observation or video analysis. However, factors such as restricted shoulder mobility, higher body mass index (BMI), patient-centred care, and cultural considerations may impact the reliability of SDT results. Palpation offers an alternative approach that addresses these limitations by providing additional tactile information on joint function and dysfunction.

Objectives: Dextrose prolotherapy is one of the most promising minimally invasive interventions for temporomandibular disorder (TMD), particularly in refractory cases where other conservative treatments have failed. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the efficacy of a new treatment, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prolotherapy, in patients with TMD to alleviate symptoms.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on TMD patients with chronic pain who did not respond to conventional treatments.
Objectives: Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is a common condition that affects the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the muscles of the jaw, resulting in pain and dysfunction. TMD is affected by both behavioral and psychological factors. Digital therapeutics (DTx) can exert therapeutic effects by controlling behavioral factors through the delivery of appropriate interventions.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of implants placed in horizontally augmented alveolar ridges using porcine bone grafts and to investigate the long-term stability of the porcine bone grafts.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 49 sites that underwent horizontal ridge augmentation using porcine bone grafts and implant placement with a follow-up period longer than 5 years. Furthermore, additional analysis was conducted on 24 sites where porcine bone grafts were used exclusively for horizontal ridge augmentation and implant placement.

Objectives: This review assessed the performance of implant-supported fixed hybrid prostheses in 21 patients who received a total of 137 implants between 2003 and 2010. The implants were evaluated for marginal bone resorption, complications, success rate, and survival rate based on their vertical angularity, type of bone graft, and measured implant stability.
Materials And Methods: One-way ANOVA and chi-square tests were used to analyze the relationships among long-term evaluation factors and these variables.
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have attracted considerable attention as potential substitutes for traditional antibiotics. In our previous research, a novel antimicrobial peptide YS12 derived from the strain showed broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. In this study, the fractional inhibitory concentration index (FICI) indicated that combining YS12 with commercial antibiotics produced a synergistic effect.

Methods: Among 210 patients who underwent orthognathic surgery, a total of 40 subjects were enrolled based on standardized inclusion criteria: only mandibular surgery, <5 mm setback difference between right and left of the mandible, orthodontics with fixed appliances, and more than 2 years of follow-up after treatment. These patients were allocated to the MSE (n = 20) and MCS groups (n = 20) according to the duration of presurgical orthodontics.
Background: Low-grade inflammation plays a role in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome (MetS), and measuring levels of inflammatory molecules, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), may indicate Mets progression. Serum uric acid (SUA) has also been identified as an independent risk factor for MetS. This study aimed to investigate the association between MetS components and levels of serum hs-CRP and SUA using representative and reliable data for the Korean population.

Lateralization of autonomic control in the brain remains the subject of debate; nevertheless, ultra-short-term heart-rate variability (HRV) analysis is a useful tool for understanding the pathophysiology of autonomic dysfunction in epilepsy patients. A retrospective study reviewed medical records of patients with temporal lobe epilepsy who underwent presurgical evaluations.

Methods: Implants were placed in the bilateral sides of the maxillary sinuses of 5 minipigs and allocated to a PCL-TCP+hUCMSCs+PRP group (n=5), a PCL-TCP+PRP group (n=5), and a PCL-TCP-only group (n=6). After 12 weeks, bone regeneration was evaluated with soft X-rays, micro-computed tomography, fluorescence microscopy, and histomorphometric analysis.
Background: Few trials have compared the results of surgical treatment for peri-implantitis based on severity of peri-implantitis and surgical method. This study investigated the survival rate of implants based on type of surgical method used and initial severity of peri-implantitis. Classification of severity was determined based on bone loss rate relative to fixture length.
