Background: Medication errors and delays in drug dispensing are persistent challenges in traditional pharmacy systems. Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) were introduced at the study hospital in July 2022 to improve medication safety and efficiency. However, the initial implementation phase revealed several issues, including prolonged medication retrieval times, suboptimal cabinet layout, system interface limitations, and inconsistent user operations.

Design: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Data Sources: Articles were searched from PubMed, Embase, The Cochrane Library, and Web of Science (up to 18 October 2024).
The emergency department (ED) is one of the places where patient deaths frequently occur. Understanding family members' experiences of bereavement would help provide individualized bereavement care. We conducted a meta-synthesis to synthesize family members' experiences of bereavement in the ED and assess the impact of bereavement on their lives.

Understanding the current status and challenges of bereavement care will help facilitate the development of bereavement care in the emergency department. However, little is known about the status of bereavement care in Chinese emergency departments and nurses' perceptions of bereavement care. We used a self-made questionnaire to survey 124 head nurses and 870 emergency nurses in 21 hospitals in Jiangsu Province in September 2023.

In China, automated blood pressure monitors have been readily available for home use. Home blood pressure monitoring has been indispensable in the management of hypertension. There is therefore a need to establish guidelines for home blood pressure monitoring on the basis of the 2012 consensus document.

Background: The beta1-adrenergic receptor (ADRB1) plays a pivotal role in mediating signal transduction of the sympathetic-adrenal system, which is involved in the regulation of cardiac output and peripheral resistance. Our goal was to determine whether the polymorphisms Arg389Gly (rs1801253) and Ser49Gly (rs1801252) of the ADRB1 gene were associated with essential hypertension in Chinese.
Methods: We tested our hypothesis in two independent case-control studies, one comprised 481 patients with hypertension and 529 control subjects, and the other study comprised 212 patients and 325 control subjects.

Although the importance of elevated circulating plasma catecholamines on cardiac structural and functional remodelling of hypertension is well documented, it is unclear whether the catecholamine-beta-adrenoreceptor (beta AR)-cAMP system can predict different cardiovascular events. 2. A total of 601 identified hypertensive patients with baseline and follow-up plasma levels of noradrenaline (NA) and adrenaline (Adr), lymphocyte beta AR density (B(max)) and intra-lymphocyte cAMP levels in peripheral blood (last examination 60+/-26 months apart) were followed up for an additional 24+/-12 months.

Methods: A total of 83 identified CHF patients with a baseline and follow-up plasma levels of norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (E), lymphocytes beta-AR density (Bmax), and intralymphocyte cAMP content in peripheral blood were followed up. Major cardiogenic death events were registered.
Changes in the density of myocardium and blood lymphocyte beta-adrenoceptors (beta-AR) in left ventricular (LV) geometry have been found in patients with essential hypertension (EH). However, it is not known whether intrinsic beta-AR subtype function changes during left ventricular remodeling of hypertension. The purpose of this study was to further investigate the changes and clinical significance of beta-AR subtype function in LV remodeling in patients with EH.

The aim of the present study was to investigate inflammatory cytokine release and the interaction with platelets in patients with unstable angina (UA) after coronary angioplasty. In 50 patients with stable angina (SA) and 58 patients with UA, serial venous blood samples were obtained immediately before, and 30 minutes, 4, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours, and 7 days after coronary angioplasty. Plasma concentrations of IL-8 and vWF were determined by immunoassay, while the expression of CD11 b/CD18 on monocytes and the expression of CD41 on platelets were assessed by flow cytometry.
