Comparative efficacy of chemiluminescence and toluidine blue in the detection of potentially malignant and malignant disorders of the oral cavity.

Context: Early detection of oral cancer is of paramount importance in determining the prognosis of oral cancer. Literature suggests that several diagnostic modalities have been proposed to aid a clinician in early detection of oral cancer without much conclusive evidence.

Aims: The present study aims to compare toluidine blue and chemiluminescence screening methods in early detection of carcinoma in North Indian population and also to evaluate these methods with histopathological diagnosis.

Management of fractured implant case using loop connector fixed partial denture.

Dental implants treatment have become a common modality of treatment nowadays for the replacement of missing tooth/teeth, but there have been failures due to a number of reasons; one of the rare problems is the fracture of the dental implants fixture. It is of prime importance to understand the type/system of the implant to be placed in a site and the amount and direction of occlusal forces incurred after the loading of prosthesis.

Introduction: The determination of physiologic rest position of the mandible to the maxillae is of paramount importance in almost all fields of dentistry. The stability of vertical dimension at rest has been controversial if the rest position of mandible remains constant throughout life or not. Despite of several studies on the rest position of the mandible and facial vertical dimension, certain fundamental disagreements remain unresolved.

Modified technique of soft liner application.

Soft liners are materials that can be advocated successfully to manage clinical situations like atrophic edentulous ridges with flabby displaceable tissues and in cases of severely resorbed ridges which adversely affect the retention and stability of complete dentures and further enhance bone loss. Soft liner provides a cushioning effect and distributes uniform occlusal forces to compromised residual ridges. In this paper a modified technique of soft liner application in mandibular denture has been discussed.
