The generally recognized as safe (GRAS) microalgae (wet) as a multifunctional additive for coloring and improving the organoleptic and functional properties of foods.

This work proposes the application of astaxanthin-rich wet paste (HPW) as a partial substitute for wheat flour in the preparation of filloas, a dish that combines the basic ingredients of industrial bakery. The nutritional and color profile of HPW-enriched samples was evaluated by comparative analysis with a mixture of synthetic food dyes. The highest content of carotenoids (798 ± 12 μg g) and fatty acids (76 ± 2 mg g) was obtained for a filloa fortified with in contrast to a non-significant dye response.

Matrix solid-phase dispersion as a greener alternative to obtain bioactive extracts from . Characterization by UHPLC-QToF.

So far, research on the microalga has been focused mainly on the exploitation of its high astaxanthin content, leaving aside the use of other bioactive compounds present. This study is focused on obtaining and characterizing extracts enriched in bioactive compounds from this microalga red aplanospores. This is performed by means of Matrix Solid-Phase Dispersion (MSPD) extraction process, in an environmentally friendly way with low energy consumption and GRAS solvents.

[Perinatal outcome in patients with meconial amniotic fluid in labor].

Purpose: To evaluate the perinatal morbidity and mortality with the presence of meconial amniotic fluid.

Material And Methods: Retrospective study of case review, performed from 1st of June 1995 to May 1997. The patients included were at delivery, with a pregnancy of 32 weeks or older and had meconial amniotic fluid.

[Emergency cerclage].

Objective: To evaluate the maternal and fetal morbility as well as the odds and conditions of pregnancy when performing an emergency cerclage.

Material And Methods: We performed a transversal, prospective and descriptive study of all the patients to which an emergency cerclage was performed in the Instituto Nacional de Perinatología between January 1, 1995 and December 31, 1996 having all the inclusion criteria. At such time 261 cerclages were performed in our Institute upon unique pregnancies being only 22 considered as emergency cerclages.

[Vaginally assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy vs. abdominal hysterectomy. Initial experience].

A longitudinal prospective study was performed including 22 patients that were submitted to hysterectomy, for diverse being uterine pathologies, between March 1st. 1995 and until August 31st. 1996, in private practice at México City.
