Objective: This analysis aims to evaluate the sustained effectiveness of trigeminal microvascular decompression (MVD) in patients with medically refractory Short-lasting Unilateral Neuralgiform Headache Attacks (SUNHA) who demonstrate trigeminal neurovascular conflict (NVC) ipsilateral to the painful side.
Methods: This is a retrospective single-centre analysis of prospectively collected data conducted between September 2012 and March 2025 to investigate the efficacy and safety of trigeminal MVD in consecutive refractory chronic SUNHA patients suitable for surgery. All patients underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with specific trigeminal sequences before surgery.

Context: While modern palliative care began over 50 years ago, its formal recognition by the WHO in 1990 marked a turning point. Since then, palliative care has evolved from a niche service for terminal cancer patients to a global health priority integrated into universal health coverage. Despite notable progress, serious suffering related to health conditions continues to rise, especially in low- and middle-income countries, calling for renewed ethical and strategic commitment.

This article, a collaborative effort by 16 individuals with diverse disabilities and expertise, critically examines the limitations inherent in the current usage. We argue that prevailing interpretations of 'lived experience' presume subjectivity and over-emphasise narratives of suffering, leading to tokenism and a false dichotomy between lived experience and professional or academic expertise.

Aims: To assess the diagnostic yield, predictors, and resource implications of surveillance endoscopy in patients with severe (LA Grade C/D) oesophagitis.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 1700 index cases of severe oesophagitis over 18.

Context: Despite progress in policy and advocacy, global palliative care development remains highly uneven, with large segments of the population lacking access to quality services. A new WHO framework has provided an updated methodology for assessing national palliative care systems.
Objectives: To assess the current state of palliative care development worldwide using the WHO framework and to produce the first global ranking of countries based on their performance across 14 indicators.
