blooms are of escalating global concern due to their substantial ecological impacts on marine ecosystems. Emerging evidence indicates that algae-bacterial interactions play pivotal roles in shaping the ecology and evolution of harmful algal blooms, although much of this interplay remains unexplored. We successfully isolated and propagated two novel bacterial strains from bloom.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the associated factors of intercostal neuralgia in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) of the thoracic spine and to develop a predictive model to assess the likelihood of patients developing intercostal neuralgia following thoracic vertebral fractures.
Methods: The retrospective study involved 518 patients with thoracic OVCF treated at our hospital, among whom those with and without intercostal neuralgia were matched at a 1:1 ratio.Relevant basic clinical data and imaging parameters of the patients were recorded, t-test was used for continuous variables and chi-square test for categorical variables to determine the factors associated with intercostal neuralgia.
To further study the aminoalcohol-diterpenoid alkaloids (ADAs) in Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), a simple and sensitive UFLC-MS/MS method was established and validated for the determination of five ADAs, aconine, mesaconine, hypaconine, deoxyaconine and fuziline, in rat plasma to compare the pharmacokinetic characteristics of pure ADAs and Fuzi decoction. After precipitating protein with methanol, plasma samples were isolated at 0.5 mL/min flow rate on Waters Acquity UPLC BEH C column (100 mm × 2.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAbundant antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) are typically found in mercury (Hg)-contaminated aquatic environments. This phenomenon is partly attributed to the co-resistance, cross-resistance, and shared regulatory responses to Hg and antibiotics. However, it remains unclear whether and how Hg influences the conjugative transfer of ARGs mediated by mobilizable plasmids.

Objective: To study the effect of gamma linolenic acid (GLA) on atherogenesis in rats.
Method: Sixty healthy male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups: normal contro 1, fed by normal feed; atherogenesis mode 1, fed by high lipid diet; positive control group 0.9 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) of lovastatin and group IV 250 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) duoxikang; high dose of 375 mg x kg(-1) x d(-1) GLA; low dose of 187.

The aim of this work was to study some basic aspects of uranium biosorption by powdered biomass of lake-harvested cyanobacterium water-bloom, which consisted predominantly of Microcystis aeruginosa. The optimum pH for uranium biosorption was between 4.0 and 8.
