Background Increased intracranial pressure (ICP) can be reliably detected at the bedside using the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD). The functional outcome in stroke patients can be predicted with the use of acute-phase ONSD dynamics. Objectives To determine the predictive accuracy of ONSD on days 0, one, and three for the prognosis of ischemic stroke patients presented to emergency medicine as measured by Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score.

Materials And Methods: This prospective observational study involved 10 patients with early-stage EOC or suspicious ovarian masses. Tc-99 m S colloid (37 mBq) was injected subperitoneally at infundibulopelvic and ovarian ligaments near the ovary, followed by SLN detection with a gamma probe.
Introduction: Intraoperative cytology in ovarian tumours involves collecting cell samples from the ovarian sample sent during surgery and quickly examining them for diagnostic information. Frozen section provides rapid diagnosis to guide intraoperative patient management. The indications of frozen section are identification of tissue, evaluation of margins, and identification of lymph nodes metastasis.

Sample size calculation is an important step for carrying out any research. Most of the sample size estimating utilities/applications use the standard deviation of differences in their formula for paired design, which usually is not reported in the published articles. Researchers are left to use the pooled standard deviation (SDp) instead of using the standard deviation of differences.

Objective: Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is a technique to assess lymph node status in various cancers to avoid systematic lymphadenectomy and limit morbidity. This study aimed to evaluate the role of SLNB in epithelial ovarian cancer using a combination of radioactive tracer and blue dye.
Methodology: This prospective observational study included 29 patients with suspected stage I and II epithelial ovarian cancer.
Background: To correlate between immunohistochemical expression of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), and natural killer (NK) cells with the AJCC 8th edition TNM staging system and other disease-modifying clinico-pathological variables.
Methods: The representative histology sections of tumor invasive margin (IM) and tumor core (TC) were selected according to the International Immuno-Oncology Biomarker Working Group and were subjected to immunohistochemistry with antibodies for TILs (CD3, CD8, FOXP3), NK Cells (CD57), TAMs (CD68, CD163) and pan-leukocyte marker (CD45). Histo-immuno-density-intensity (HIDI) scoring was calculated as a product of the proportion and intensity of staining.
Background Microtubule-associated protein light chains (LC) 3A and 3B are the structural proteins of the autophagosomal membrane widely used as endogenous autophagy markers. LC3A and LC3B autophagosomes reportedly have a distinct subcellular localization yet their role in the transition from premalignant to malignant phase remains unclear. This exploratory study aimed to investigate the expression of autophagy-related proteins LC3A and LC3B in oral premalignant lesions (OPL) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cases.

Altered EEG based Functional connectivity (FC) with Emotional stimuli in major depressive disorder (MDD) in addition to resting state FC may help in improving the diagnostic accuracy of machine learning classification models. We explored the potential of EEG-based FC during resting state and emotional processing, for diagnosing MDD using machine learning approach.

Complex sclerosing lesion (CSL)/radial scar of breast is a benign entity that can pose a diagnostic challenge due to resemblance to breast carcinoma on imaging. Hamartoma are uncommon benign tumors, composed of disorganized mixture of glandular, fibrous, and adipose tissues, which can exhibit classical imaging characteristics. Here we describe a case of concomitant CSL and hamartoma in left beast, of which CSL presented as suspicious mass on imaging but was ultimately confirmed to be benign on histopathology with 4 years of documented stability.

Human nutrition and health rely on edible oils. Global demand for edible oils is expanding, necessitating the discovery of new natural oil sources subjected to adequate quality and safety evaluation. However, in contrast to other agricultural products, India's edible oil supply is surprisingly dependent on imports.

Prostate cancer is a significant cause of cancer-related mortality among men worldwide, necessitating the exploration of prognostic biomarkers to aid in accurate risk assessment and treatment decision-making. This cross-sectional study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the role of Ki-67 as a prognostic marker in prostate cancer by examining its association with clinicopathological parameters. A total of 102 archived cases of prostate core biopsy specimens, histopathologically reported as prostate carcinoma, were included in this study.

Since sleep duration is a modifiable risk factor, its association with the development and progression of myopia has implications for public health. This review was conducted in accordance with the 2020 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.

Examining these miRNAs and location-specific molecular alterations is essential to understanding the intricacies of HNSCC and directing focused diagnoses and treatments.
Aim: To investigate tobacco-related changes in the expression of miRNAs and proteins with clinicopathological parameters of HNSCC and disease-modifying personal habits like tobacco and alcohol use.
Background: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a commonly performed procedure by the bronchoscopist for the evaluation of mediastinal lesions. However, evidence directly comparing the nasal and oral routes to guide the choice of an optimal insertion approach is scanty.
Methods: In this prospective, parallel-group, open-label randomized clinical trial, adults posted for a linear EBUS-TBNA examination under conscious sedation were randomized to undergo the procedure via the nasal or oral route.
Background: There are multiple genes that are co-amplified along with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) in chromosome 17. GRB7 and PGAP3 are two such genes. We hypothesize that the protein products of these genes may serve as immunohistochemistry (IHC) markers for detecting HER2 amplification in breast cancer.

Leukemia-associated aberrant immunophenotype (LAIP) refers to expression of unusual CD markers by leukemic cells, which are not normally expressed by their respective lineage. The incidence of LAIP varies considerably, and its clinical implications, prognostic relevance, and sensitivity to therapy are still debatable.

Of these, β thalassemia is the commonest disorder reported in India, followed by certain hemoglobinopathies encountered in different regions of the country. The data pertaining to the incidence of these disorders in the Uttarakhand region of India are sparse.

The perception appears to flow in a continuous pattern but evidence suggest that perception may involve discrete temporal sampling of peripheral cues. Stroud's perceptual moment theory proposes that perception occurs in discrete moments; however, more experimental evidence is required to support this theory. The present study characterized the decision function for asynchrony detection using variable stimulus-onset asynchronies (SOAs).

These tumours may metastasize to lung, liver, brain and bone; but pleural involvement by squamous-cell carcinoma is distinctly rare.

Objectives: Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) disease has overwhelmed the healthcare infrastructure worldwide. The shortage of intensive care unit (ICU) beds leads to longer waiting times and higher mortality for patients. High crowding leads to an increase in mortality, length of hospital stays, and hospital costs for patients.
