Heavy metal (HM) contamination poses a significant environmental threat to Mangrove ecosystems, particularly in industrial and urban-influenced regions. This study has investigated the spatial and seasonal distribution of HM in water and sediment samples from three major mangrove sites along the Arabian Sea coast of Pakistan, Indus Delta, Sandspit and Miani Hor. Ten heavy metals (HM)- aluminum (Al), arsenic (Ar), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), selenium (Se), and zinc (Zn) were assessed using multiple pollution indices to evaluate the contamination levels and ecological risks.

The mango image dataset presented in this article contains clear and detailed images of the fifteen most common and popular mango () varieties in Bangladesh: Amrapali, Ashshina Classic, Ashshina Zhinuk, Banana Mango, Bari-4, Bari-11, Fazli Classic, Fazli Shurmai, Gourmoti, Harivanga, Himsagor, Katimon, Langra, Rupali, and Shada. The mango specimens were sourced from various fruit markets across six districts of Bangladesh, namely Rajshahi, Chapai Nawabganj, Satkhira, Panchagarh, Rangpur, and Dhaka, which are famous for popular mango cultivation and availability to ensure a wide geographic representation. To maintain the quality and uniformity of images across the dataset, the images were captured using a high-definition smartphone camera under a standardized and controlled environment.

Background: microRNAs regulate various cellular pathways and may serve as medium-term prognostic markers in neurocognitive function, as suggested by adult studies. However, no comparable data exist for children with central nervous system tumors. This pilot study explored miRNA expression and its correlation with 12-month posttreatment neurocognitive function in children and young adults (5-21 years) with primary brain tumors.

Heart failure (HF) is a prevalent global health concern, impacting millions and contributing to high morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. The management of HF involves complex strategies, and traditional approaches often fail to address the escalating burden of hospital readmissions and deteriorating patient quality of life. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising tool for enhancing diagnostic accuracy, personalizing treatment plans, and improving patient outcomes in HF care.

As antimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to rise, the need for improved antibiotic delivery systems is urgent to prevent overexposure from systemic administration. To address this clinical trial, metal-organic frameworks have developed as promising contender for regulated drug release. In this study, ciprofloxacin (CIP) was encapsulated into two zirconium-based MOFs (ZrMOF-1 and Zr-MOF-2), synthesized a previously reported solvothermal method.

Rapid decrease in temperature changes water stratification structure into an unstable state, reinforcing water convection and enhancing vertical biogeochemical fluxes, which might pose a threat to aquatic ecosystems, especially for drinking water use. At high latitudes, current research predominantly focuses on destratification systems to reduce the degradation of aquatic ecosystems. However, at low latitudes, the strategies of enhanced stratification through water level operation (WLO) provide a perspective for reservoir management.

Introduction: Teratocarcinosarcoma is an extremely rare and aggressive malignancy of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, comprising epithelial, mesenchymal, and neuroectodermal components. Due to its aggressive behavior, early diagnosis and a multimodal treatment approach are essential for improving outcomes.

Case Presentation: We report the case of a 55-year-old male who presented with bilateral nasal discharge, recurrent epistaxis, progressive nasal swelling, and left-sided epiphora over several months.

This systematic review evaluates the diagnostic and prognostic utility of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), cardiac troponins, and D-dimer in acute cardio-respiratory syndromes, including heart failure (HF), acute coronary syndrome (ACS), pulmonary embolism (PE), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related complications. These biomarkers play critical roles in assessing myocardial stress, injury, and thrombosis risk, offering a rapid and cost-effective alternative to traditional diagnostic tools. A comprehensive literature search from 2015 to 2024 identified 14 high-quality studies, demonstrating NT-proBNP's strong correlation with HF severity and mortality risk in severe COVID-19, while cardiac troponins were associated with myocardial injury in ARDS and ACS.

This study explores the catalytic co-pyrolysis of cabbage waste (CW) and tire waste (TW) to enhance the yield and quality of bio-oil and syngas. Although CW is produced in large quantities from global cabbage cultivation, its lower hydrogen content limits its utility for fuel and chemical production. The co-pyrolysis process, utilizing char as a catalyst, presents a cost-effective approach to optimize product outputs by promoting the reforming of volatiles during thermal decomposition.

Background: Cortical bone trajectory screw (CBTS) is reported to offer increased cortical bone purchase and improved outcomes as compared to the traditional pedicle screw (PS), particularly in osteoporotic patients. The systematic review aims to compare randomized controlled trials comparing CBTS with PS in single-level lumbar spine fusion surgery.

Methods: A systematic search was conducted on PubMed (MEDLINE), Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane.

High-performance nonlinear optical (NLO) materials are essential for optoelectronic and sensing technologies, yet multifunctional systems combining fluorescence and NLO properties remain scarce. Through systematic computational analysis, we investigate 4-chloro-2-(1-phenylimidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-yl)phenol (IUB) complexes with strategically selected metals: alkali (Li⁺, Na⁺, K⁺) and alkaline earth (Mg, Ca) ions to probe charge/size effects, and transition metals (Ni, Zn) as contrasting d-block representatives, Ni for its paramagnetic fluorescence quenching and Zn for its closed-shell fluorescence preservation. This selection enables direct comparison of how electronic configuration (s/p-block vs d-block) and oxidation state (+ 1 vs + 2) governs optoelectronic properties.

In this study, five tautomer's IB1-IB5 are designed and studied, containing donor (-NH)-π(THDP)-acceptor (-NO) frameworks, formed through the migration of hydrogen atoms from/to the pyrazine rings. The designed and theoretically explored compounds IB2 and IB5 originate from double-hydrogen migration, while IB3 and IB4 are derived by single-hydrogen migration from adjacent pyrazine rings of IB1. Extensive DFT studies were conducted to explore the aromatic behavior, stability, reactivity, natural bond orbitals (NBOs), polarizabilities, and absorption behavior to investigate the effect of electron localization.
