This in vitro study aimed to examine the effects of popular Saudi Arabian beverages on tooth shade after home bleaching. A total of 60 extracted single-rooted teeth were used, of which 45 teeth were bleached using a 35% carbamide peroxide gel and an LED light. After bleaching, the teeth were immersed in three different beverages-Cola, Arabic Qahwa, and Black Coffee-for 14 days, while a control group of unbleached teeth (n = 15) was also exposed to the same beverages (5 teeth/ beverage).

Materials And Methods: A comparative cross-sectional study was conducted over 6 months involving 179 children aged 8-12 years from Tharparkar and Hyderabad. Weight and height were recorded, BMI was computed using height and weight, and salivary flow rate was measured using the spitting method.
Background & Objective: Root canal infections are challenging to eradicate with conventional methods due to their complexity. Traditional chemical irrigants often fail to reach all bacterial colonies. Methylene blue (MB), used in photoactivated disinfection (PAD), generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon light activation, effectively killing bacteria.

Background: Numerous studies reported that the healing after surgical endodontic retreatment is influenced by multiple factors which include the genetic profile of the patient, epigenetics, and immune responses. The genes which are primarily responsible for the healing potential in different individuals are those which are involved in the regulation of the cytoskeleton and cellular adhesion which subsequently affects bone deposition and healing. Integrins are cell-surface molecules, possess a key role in the cytoskeleton and cellular adhesion.

Objectives: To evaluate the shade selection accuracy of male dental students according to the three dimensions of color: value, hue, and chroma, using visual and instrumental shade selection methods under different lighting conditions.
Methods: This comparative cross-sectional study was instigated amongst 70 male 4, 5, and 6 years BDS students of the Dental Clinics Complex at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia for a duration of two months. First, the principal investigator determined the shade of tooth 11 and 46 on patient utilizing the spectrophotometer after calibration.
Background: This study aimed to evaluate dentist perceptions of attractive smiles in the Pakistani population, considering different dental proportions.
Methods: Maxillary casts and digital images were used to create symmetrical representations of anterior teeth. dentists' preferences for good and bad teeth proportions, width/height ratios, and various dental proportions (golden, recurring esthetic dental (RED), golden percentage, Preston, and local/observed) were assessed using one sample and paired t-test.
Background: Selecting the ideal tooth shade is essential to the success of aesthetic dental restorations. Students' cognitive abilities are involved in the multifaceted and intricate process of shade matching. Hence, the present study aimed to assess and compare the shade-matching ability of undergraduate dental students in various years of dental education under clinical and correcting light.

The Decayed, Missing, and Filled Teeth (DMFT) Index is a useful tool for assessing and measuring the state of oral health in a community. This study aimed to evaluate oral health knowledge, attitudes, and practices among participants who visited a dental clinic at King Faisal University and to evaluate their DMFT scores.

The aim of this study is to compare the apical seal provided by two bioceramic sealers (Endoseal and Endosequence) with that provided by a calcium hydroxide sealer (Sealapex), and to evaluate the effect of different obturation techniques (cold lateral condensation, continuous wave compaction and single cone) on the apical seal under a stereomicroscope. A total of 110 single-rooted mandibular premolar teeth were decoronated, cleaned and shaped using the Endosequence filing system to tip size 30/0.

Smear layer forms during cleaning and shaping can obstruct the entry of both irrigant and sealant into the dentinal tubules, resulting in the accumulation of the bacteria and their byproducts. To ensure effective adhesion and better periapical healing, it is strongly advised to remove the smear layer before proceeding with root canal obturation. This study was designed to compare the efficiency of laser-activated irrigation (LAI) in removing the smear layer and debriding the most apical third of the root canal.

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of periapical pathologies in the maxillary posterior teeth and their relationship with maxillary sinus mucosal thickening by using cone-beam computed tomography scans. This retrospective study was conducted on 420 digitized CBCT images which were scanned in sagittal, axial, and coronal views.

Dental anxiety is one of the most common conditions present amongst the masses globally. It is this fear that makes individuals avoid seeking dental treatment which results in a deteriorated oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). Discrepancies exist in the prevalence of dental anxiety based on gender, education levels, level of deprivation of a society and its socioeconomic status.

At the present time, the inclination of dentists toward the smart monochromatic shade of composite is flourishing owing to the fact that it decreases the requirement of a range of composite shades, curtails the waste of unconsumed composite shades, lessens chair side interval, abolishes the shade selection, and decreases dependency on shade-selecting methods. Smart monochromatic composite is known to obtain the color of the adjacent tooth structure in which it is placed.

Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire-based study was conducted from October 2020 to December 2020 at Dental Clinic Complex, College of Dentistry, King Faisal University Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. Three hundred and sixty patients who visited the Dental Clinic Complex after relaxation of lockdown and consented to participate were included in this study.
Adequate knowledge of root canal morphology along with its probable variations is imperative to acquire successful endodontic treatment. This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the root canal configuration of maxillary and mandibular first molar using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) among patients in Al-Ahsa region, Saudi Arabia. A total of 377 samples were included, out of which 123 CBCT (I-CAT Vision QTM) scans with intact all first permanent molars were selected in this study and scanned in sagittal, axial, and coronal views by using BlueSkyPlan software.

A contemporary knowledge of root canal treatment (RCT) is a prerequisite for a successful outcome. Studies observed that General Dental Practitioners (GDPs) were not abreast of current endodontic knowledge due to a lack of continuing dental education, not following the treatment protocols that they had learned in their undergraduate program, and overlooking the evidence-based current endodontic practices. Therefore, this study was intended to assess the awareness, attitude, and clinical endodontic practices among General Dental Practitioners in Saudi Arabia.

Background: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) catalyzes the degradation of the extracellular matrix components and have a major role in many physiological processes including wound healing. In the current study, we examined the correlation of baseline MMPs 1, 2, 7, and 9 expressions with periapical wound healing after surgical endodontic treatment.
Methods: 27 patients aged between 15 and 57 years presenting with chronic apical periodontitis or chronic apical abscess of an anterior tooth with previously attempted or failed root canal treatment were included in this study.
Background: Dentine hypersensitivity is one of the most common chief complaints of patients observed by dentists in their practice. However, there is a lack of universal consensus over the selection of reliable treatment modality.
Objectives: To compare the effectiveness between dentine desensitizer and self-etch adhesive in patients complaining of moderate to severe dentine hypersensitivity pain.
Background: Dental caries is one of the most common diseases around the world. The newly erupted permanent posterior teeth are at great risk due to the complex occlusal morphology of pits and fissures, infraocclusion and incomplete maturation of enamel. Pit and fissure sealants are the treatment of choice in such conditions.
