This study aims to evaluate obstetric and neonatal outcomes in pregnancies complicated by RDs and to identify hemogram-derived biomarkers associated with adverse perinatal events. This retrospective cohort study analyzed 360 pregnancies in individuals diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), Sjögren's disease, sarcoidosis, undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD), and other autoimmune conditions, followed up at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, between 2013 and 2018. Data on disease activity, maternal complications, neonatal outcomes, and inflammatory markers were extracted from electronic medical records.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with increased skeletal fragility, yet standard clinical assessments often fail to detect diabetes-induced changes in bone quality. Raman spectroscopy (RS), a label-free and non-destructive technique, offers insight into bone composition, and its full spectral profile may reveal changes not captured by traditional compositional metrics. Prior to propagating a crack from a micro-notch to failure, we acquired RS data from human cortical bone samples extracted from fresh-frozen, cadaveric femurs: 60 non-diabetic donors and 60 T2DM donors (equal number of females and males between 50 years and 97 years of age).

Ovarian endometriomas (OEMs), cystic formations within the ovaries, are a significant manifestation of endometriosis and present in 20-40% of affected women. Despite extensive research, the pathogenesis of endometriosis remains unclear, with retrograde menstruation, coelomic metaplasia, and lymphatic dissemination being proposed mechanisms. OEMs negatively impact ovarian function by reducing the ovarian reserve, disrupting folliculogenesis, and altering the ovarian microenvironment through oxidative stress, inflammation, and fibrosis.

In recent years, evidence for the anti-cancer activity of lichen secondary metabolites has been rapidly increasing. In this study, we synthesised analogues of diffractaic acid, a lichen secondary metabolite, and evaluated their ability to suppress colorectal cancer stem potential. Among the 10 compounds after H/CH₃/benzylation of the diffractaic acid structure or modifications in an aromatic hydrophobic domain, TU3 has a more inhibition effect on the stem potential of colorectal cancer compared to other compounds.

Stereocaulon alpinum has been found to have potential pharmaceutical properties due to the presence of secondary metabolites such as usnic acid, atranorin, and lobaric acid (LA) which have anticancer activity. Ethanol sclerotherapy (EST) has gained attention as a minimally invasive treatment option for ovarian endometriomas, particularly in infertile women with endometrioma undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Endometriomas are associated with decreased ovarian reserve and impaired fertility outcomes, and traditional surgical approaches, such as cystectomy, often lead to further reductions in ovarian reserve.
