Despite reasons for separation and divorce being critical to understanding coparenting and children's adjustment, they are often overlooked risk factors. Additionally, by incorporating both partners' perspectives, dyadic data help us fully understand the interplay between reasons for separation/divorce, coparenting, and child adjustment. Using data from 926 separating or divorcing heterosexual couples in a coparenting educational program, we explore the indirect effects from partners' shared perceptions of two common reasons for divorce (family violence and parenting differences) to children's behavioral and emotional problems via coparenting, utilizing the common fate mediation model.

The susceptibility of a protein to aggregation upon exposure to copper ions (Cu) has been recognized as a contributor to Cu-induced cellular dysfunction and toxicity. Different cell types succumb to Cu to varying degrees, indicating innate differences between species in the mechanisms used to tolerate exposure to Cu in excess of their biological needs. The potential of therapeutically targeting RNA with small molecules continues to grow yet progress is hindered by difficulties in determining specific mechanisms of action, including impacts on RNA-protein binding. RNA G-quadruplexes (rGQs) are a particularly promising target due to their range of biological functions, structural stability, and hydrophobic surfaces, which promote small molecule and protein interactions alike. Challenges arise due to 1) the low structural diversity among rGQs, thereby limiting binding selectivity, and 2) a lack of knowledge regarding how small molecules can manipulate rGQ-protein binding on a global scale.

Background: PSEN1, PSEN2, and APP mutations cause Alzheimer's disease (AD) with an early age at onset (AAO) and progressive cognitive decline. PSEN1 mutations are more common and generally have an earlier AAO; however, certain PSEN1 mutations cause a later AAO, similar to those observed in PSEN2 and APP.

We present several nonlinear wavefront sensing techniques for few-mode sensors, all of which are empirically calibrated and agnostic to the choice of wavefront sensor. The first class of techniques involves a straightforward extension of the linear phase retrieval scheme to higher order; the resulting Taylor polynomial can then be solved using the method of successive approximations, though we discuss alternate methods such as homotopy continuation. In the second class of techniques, a model of the WFS intensity response is created using radial basis function interpolation.

The landmark adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) study conducted by Kaiser Permanente and the Centers for Disease Control shook the bedrock of the scientific community, highlighting the commonality of ACEs and identifying a dose-response relationship with poor health outcomes. The seminal findings led to a surge in ACEs research and a growing body of empirical literature; however, the ACEs measure has numerous conceptual and measurement issues that are often overlooked in the research. Such problems include a lack of a clear conceptual definition of what constitutes an ACE, item formulation and coverage, item scoring, and lack of contextual information.

The stability of proteins from rates of oxidation (SPROX), thermal proteome profiling (TPP), and limited proteolysis (LiP) techniques were used to profile the stability of ∼2500 proteins in hippocampus tissue cell lysates from 2- and 8-months-old wild-type (C57BL/6J; = 7) and transgenic (5XFAD; = 7) mice with five Alzheimer's disease (AD)-linked mutations. Approximately 200-500 protein hits with AD-related stability changes were detected by each technique at each age point. The hit overlap from technique to technique was low, and all of the techniques generated protein hits that were more numerous and largely different from those identified in protein expression level analyses, which were also performed here.

Contribution Analysis (CA) is a promising theory-based evaluation approach for complex interventions, yet its application in health interventions remains largely unexplored.
