Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure electronic databases from inception to Dec. 31, 2024.

Analysis of Factors Affecting the Healing Time of Chronic Refractory Wounds and Construction of a Prediction Model.

This study aimed to comprehensively analyze the factors affecting the healing time of chronic refractory wounds, then establish a clinical prediction model and verify its performance. A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 166 patients with chronic refractory wounds who met the inclusion criteria at a tertiary hospital in Changsha (from October 2021 to December 2023). The wound healing time was defined as the days of hospital stay until meeting the discharge standard.

Sleep duration and cardiovascular disease causal association: A two-sample Mendelian randomization study.

Background: An increasing number of studies have recently suggested a relationship between sleep duration and cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, a correlation between the two has not been studied.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate a correlation between sleep duration and CVD.

Anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) is the most aggressive subtype of thyroid cancer with few effective therapeutic strategies. Recent studies have identified the deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB) 26S proteasome non-ATPase regulatory subunit 14 (PSMD14) as a promising therapeutic target for multiple cancers; however, the role of PSMD14 in ATC remains largely unknown. Here, we found that PSMD14 was upregulated in ATC tissues and that its aberrant expression was negatively associated with the overall survival of patients with ATC.

Risk Factors for 30-Day Mortality of Community-Acquired Bloodstream Infection Patients in Changsha City, Hunan Province, China.

Purpose: To analyze the factors affecting patients' prognoses based on the community acquired-bloodstream infection patient data from 2017 to 2021.

Patients And Methods: The data of 940 patients were retrieved, having at least one positive bilateral blood culture within 48 hours of hospitalization, and grouped into survivor and non-survivor groups. The clinical characteristics, laboratory results, causative pathogen and other indicators were collected and compared, and risk factors were identified by applying Cox proportional hazard regression model to the data.

A nomogram for predicting mortality of patients initially diagnosed with primary pulmonary tuberculosis in Hunan province, China: a retrospective study.

Objective: According to the Global Tuberculosis Report for three consecutive years, tuberculosis (TB) is the second leading infectious killer. Primary pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) leads to the highest mortality among TB diseases. Regretfully, no previous studies targeted the PTB of a specific type or in a specific course, so models established in previous studies cannot be accurately feasible for clinical treatments.

The diagnostic value of thyroglobulin in fine-needle aspiration of metastatic lymph nodes in patients with papillary thyroid cancer and its influential factors.

Thyroglobulin (Tg) measurement in fine-needle aspiration (FNA-Tg) has proved to be an excellent tool to identify metastatic cervical lymph nodes (CLN) before or after surgery for papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). The diagnostic value of FNA-Tg for metastatic CLN in PTC patients is higher than that of ultrasound (US) and fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), especially for small or cystic LN. The combination of FNAC and FNA-Tg can provide nearly 100% diagnostic sensitivity and specificity for CLN metastasis.

Background: Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) play critical roles in various cancers by modulating functional proteins post-translationally. Previous studies have demonstrated that DUB Josephin Domain Containing 1 (JOSD1) is implicated in tumor progression, however, the role and mechanism of JOSD1 in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remain to be explored. In this study, we aimed to identify the clinical significance and function of JOSD1 in HNSCC.

Basal-like breast cancer (BLBC) is resistant to endocrinotherapy and targeted therapy and new molecular therapies are needed for BLBC. In this study, we evaluated the role of DUSP1 and DUSP5, negative regulators of mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway, in the aggressiveness of BLBC. MDA-MB-231 cells were given paclitaxel (PTX) treatment and subsequently PTX resistant cell clones were established.

Anti-angiogenic treatment promotes triple-negative breast cancer invasion via vasculogenic mimicry.

Agents that target angiogenesis have shown limited efficacy for human triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) in clinical trials. Along with endothelium-dependent vessels, there is also vasculogenic mimicry (VM) in the microcirculation of malignant tumors. The role of VM is not completely understood regarding anti-angiogenic treatment.
