Background: Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have been linked to a higher probability of adverse physical and emotional conditions. Yet, there remains limited understanding regarding the correlation between ACEs and job burnout, and the role of sleep duration as a potential mediator in this relationship remains largely understudied.

Methods: From December 2023 to February 2024, a convenience sampling method was used to recruit nursing interns from multiple hospitals in Hunan Province, China.

Background: Despite extensive research into the health effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), there remains a need for nationally representative data to assess the associations between ACEs and both adult health and behaviors, focusing on the mediating role of socioeconomic inequality.

Method: Using data from the 2019-2022 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) (N = 249,186 adults), ACE exposure was categorized into five groups (0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 or more ACEs). Socioeconomic inequality was assessed based on income levels.

Background: Metabolic health status and body mass index (BMI) are both key predictors of aging-related diseases and premature mortality. However, the relationship between metabolically distinct phenotypes, classified by BMI categories, and serum Klotho levels-a biomarker of aging-remains poorly understood. This study aimed to investigate the association between metabolically healthy phenotypes and serum Klotho levels among middle and aged adults.

Research has shown that individuals with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are more likely to encounter heightened risks of physical and psychological challenges later in life. However, limited research has explored the comprehensive impact on the physical and mental health of young adults. Thus, we conducted a study to investigate the associations of ACEs with the physical and mental health of 18,723 college students in China.

Cadmium, a toxic heavy metal, is ubiquitous in the environment. No previous research has evaluated the relationship of blood and urine cadmium levels with muscle strength measured by isokinetic knee extensor strength. This analysis included participants who were aged 50 years or older and had measurements of cadmium in blood (n = 2052) and urine (n = 811) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
