Background: To compare participants' perceptions of reasons for admission, labor induction, and rationale for cesarean birth to those documented by clinicians in the electronic health record (EHR) and if these comparisons differed by race and ethnicity.

Methods: We conducted a secondary analysis of data from the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring mothers-to-be (2010-2013). We calculated kappa to evaluate agreement between participant postpartum interviews and EHR notes (n = 6085).

Edible films are significant in prolonging the shelf life of meat products. Herein, we prepared some edible coatings (EW/TNPCSs) based on egg white/chitosan/pectin as polymer matrix, containing tannic acid-nisin composite nano-crosslinker with antibacterial-antioxidant activities. The results of preservation indicated that the prepared EW/TNPCSs reduced the water loss of chilled pork and delayed the changes of taste, texture and surface color.

The tRNA methyltransferase DNMT2 (TRDMT1) plays a crucial role in various biological functions; however, its role in cancer, particularly in liver cancer, remains incompletely understood. In this study, we demonstrate that high DNMT2 expression is negatively correlated with prognosis in clinical liver cancer patients. A series of in vitro and in vivo experiments showed that DNMT2 promotes the proliferation, colony formation, and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma cells.

The increasing need for convenient, fast, and nutritious of prepared foods elevate the development of biodegradable antibacterial packaging materials with excellent performance. Inspired by the brick-cement-like system, the two-dimensional nanomaterial TiC MXene as nanofillers with optothermal response function was employed to strength the performance of chitosan/gelatin/polyvinyl alcohol composite films (CGPF-Mxs). The results revealed that the high-modulus TiC MXene material improved the microstructures density of macromolecule polymers by physical interactions, as well as enhancements in mechanical properties, thermal stability, barrier properties, water resistance, and antioxidation performance of the composite films.

Edible films are effective alternatives to plastic packaging, however, the hydrophilicity of edible films based on protein and polysaccharide limits the application. Therefore, we fabricated a water-stable hybrid film with a linear-spherical interpenetrating molecular topology network using egg white (EW), chitosan (CS), and pectin. Meanwhile, the nisin-tannin acid self-assembly complex nanoparticles were employed as a multifunctional cross-linker, antibacterial and antioxidant agent to improve the performance of films.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between multilevel racism and gestational age at birth among nulliparous women. We conducted a secondary analysis of data of the nuMoM2b Study (2010-2013) to examine the associations between individual- and structural-level experiences of racism and discrimination and gestational age at birth among nulliparous women (n = 9148) at eight sites across the U.S.

Carrimycin (CA), sanctioned by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2019 for treating acute bronchitis and sinusitis, has recently been observed to exhibit multifaceted biological activities, encompassing anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anti-tumor properties. Despite these applications, its efficacy in sepsis treatment remains unexplored. This study introduces a novel function of CA, demonstrating its capacity to mitigate sepsis induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) in mice models.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between multilevel racism and gestational age at birth among nulliparous non-Hispanic Black, non-Hispanic White and Hispanic women. We conducted a secondary analysis of data of the nuMoM2b Study (2010-2013) to examine the associations between individual and structural-level experiences of racism and discrimination and gestational age at birth among nulliparous women (n=7,732) at eight sites across the U.S.

DNA methyltransferase inhibitors (DNMTis) have found widespread application in the management of cancer. Zebularine (Zeb), functioning as a demethylating agent, has exhibited notable advantages and enhanced therapeutic efficacy in the realm of tumour immunotherapy. Nevertheless, due to its lack of targeted functionality, standalone Zeb therapy necessitates the administration of a substantially higher dosage.
