Background: Siberian apricot (Prunus sibirica L.) has emerged as a novel potential source of biodiesel in China, but the molecular regulatory mechanism of oil accumulation in Siberian apricot seed kernels (SASK) is still unknown at present. To better develop SASK oil as woody biodiesel, it is essential to profile transcriptome and to identify the full repertoire of potential unigenes involved in the formation and accumulation of oil SASK during the different developing stages.

CC analysis was successful in 94.0% of the patients; of these patients, 35.

This novel transformation has been realized by a rhodium self-relay catalysis, a tandem process of the in situ formation of a directing group and sequential C-H bond activation.

Such incertitude roots at a fundamental question of how inorganic nanoparticles self-assemble with biomolecules in solution. Various techniques have been developed to probe the interaction between particles and biomolecules, but very few if any can provide advantages of both rapid and convenient.

We investigated serum MBL levels in patients with diabetes with and without diabetic retinopathy (DR).
Research Design And Methods: Serum MBL levels were determined in 348 patients with diabetes and in 100 healthy control subjects.
Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) insecticidal crystal (Cry) proteins are effective against some insect pests in sprays and transgenic crops, although the evolution of resistance could threaten the long-term efficacy of such Bt use. One strategy to delay resistance to Bt crops is to "pyramid" two or more Bt proteins that bind to distinct receptor proteins within the insect midgut. The most common Bt pyramid in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.

In this research, an artificial neural network (ANN) model coupled with the ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) is presented for forecasting medium and long-term runoff time series. First, the original runoff time series is decomposed into a finite and often small number of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) and a residual series using EEMD technique for attaining deeper insight into the data characteristics.

Our previous study showed that rs1800625 (-429T/C) revealed a strong clinical relevance with sepsis morbidity rate and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) in patients with major trauma. In this study, we enlarged the sample size, added two validation populations and examined the expression of RAGE on the surface of peripheral leukocytes to ex vivo lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation in subjects with different genotypes.

Orthodontic forces result in alveolar bone resorption and formation predominantly on the pressure and tension sides of the tooth roots, respectively. Human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) have demonstrated the capacity to differentiate into osteoblasts, and they play important roles in maintaining homeostasis and regenerating periodontal tissues. However, little is known about how PDLSCs contribute to osteoblastogenesis during orthodontic tooth movement on the tension side.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the subtype of cells/cellular constituents (the density of T lymphocyte subsets, B lymphocyte, macrophages, and FOXP3 positive cells in 93 patients with meningioma, WHO grades I and II) in the tumor microenvironment and clinicopathological parameters (gender, age, tumor location, size, recurrence and pathological type) of meningioma.
Methods: Immunohistochemical demonstrations of CD20 and CD4 lymphocytes, CD68, and FOXP3 expression were performed. In order to assess the densities of CD4, CD20, CD68 and FOXP3 positive cells in 93 meningioma patients, the results were derived from independent reviews by two pathologists.

A new phenylpropanoid, (E)-2,3,4-trimethoxy-5-(1-propenyl)phenol (1), along with five known aromatic compounds (2-6), was isolated from the methanol extract of roots of Astragalus englerianus. Their structures were elucidated based on the analyses of extensive spectroscopic data and comparison of their physicochemical properties. Compounds 1 and 2 were evaluated schistosomicidal activities, and all the isolated compounds were tested for their antioxidant activities in vitro.

It has been traditionally used as a substitute of "Huang-qi" for reducing fatigue and enhancing immunity by local folks. A phytochemical study of the methanol extract of the roots led to the isolation of three new flavonoids including one aurone (1) and two chalcones (2 and 3), as well as two known flavonoids (4 and 5).

Although work-family border and boundary theory suggest individuals' boundary characteristics influence their work-family relationship, it is largely unknown how boundary flexibility and permeability mutually influence work-family conflict and subsequent employee outcomes. Moreover, the existing work-family conflict research has been mainly conducted in the United States and other Western countries. To address these gaps in the work-family literature, the present study examines a moderated mediation model regarding how family boundary characteristics may influence individuals' work-family conflict and life satisfaction with a sample of 278 Chinese full-time employees.

Based on the instrumental account of emotion regulation (Tamir, 2005), the current research seeks to offer a novel perspective to the emotions-creativity debate by investigating the instrumental value of trait-consistent emotions in creativity. We hypothesize that emotions such as worry (vs. happy) are trait-consistent experiences for individuals higher on trait neuroticism and experiencing these emotions can facilitate performance in a creativity task.
