Background: Immunotherapy, remarkably immune checkpoint inhibitors, has shown significant efficacy and survival benefits in patients with various solid tumors. Although T lymphocytes have been extensively studied as the primary target cells, the role and application of B cells in solid tumor immunotherapy remain less understood.
Methods: In this study, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of articles on solid tumor immunotherapy related to B cells, published from 2003 to March 28, 2024, in the Web of Science Core Collection.
Background: To identify risk factors for post-transplant mortality and develop a machine learning-integrated prognostic tool to optimise clinical decision-making in liver transplantation (LT) recipients.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study analysed 173 allogeneic LT recipients at the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University between August 2019 and December 2023. Clinical and biochemical variables were systematically collected, including recipient profiles [age, gender, prior abdominal surgery Performance Status (PS) scores], biochemical markers (serum creatinine, sodium, albumin, total bilirubin, neutrophil/lymphocyte counts), and prognostic scores [Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD), MELD-sodium (MELD-Na), Child-Turcotte-Pugh (CTP), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and albumin-bilirubin (ALBI)].
Background: Inflammation-immune composite markers have been increasingly investigated in various diseases, but their value in the setting of deceased donor liver transplantation remains insufficiently investigate.
Method: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on deceased donor liver transplant recipients at Zunyi Medical University. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses identified independent risk factors for major complications.

Background: Bacterial infection is a common complication of liver transplantation and is associated with high mortality rates. However, multifactor-based early-prediction tools are currently lacking. Therefore, this study investigated the risk factors of early bacterial infections after liver transplantation and used them to establish a nomogram.

Materials And Methods: TKT expression across various cancers and its associations with tumor immunity and prognosis were analyzed using nomogram models. A multi-omics approach was employed, including bulk RNA-seq analysis, methylation profiling, single-cell analysis, and spatial transcriptomics.
Lactate has emerged as a key regulator in the tumor microenvironment (TME), influencing both tumor progression and immune dynamics. As a byproduct of aerobic glycolysis, lactate satisfies the metabolic needs of proliferating tumor cells while reshaping the TME to facilitate immune evasion. Elevated lactate levels inhibit effector immune cells such as CD8 T and natural killer cells, while supporting immunosuppressive cells, such as regulatory T cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells, thus fostering an immunosuppressive environment.

Objectives: Bacterial infection is an important cause of early death after liver transplant. This meta-analysis aimed to determine the risk factors for bacterial infection after liver transplant.
Materials And Methods: We searched for relevant studies published in PubMed,Web of Science, Embase, The Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wan Fang Database, Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database, and China Biomedical Literature Database up to May 2024.
Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A/2B ( deletions are frequently identified in patients with biliary tract cancer; however, standard treatment options for this genetic alteration are lacking. Here, we present the case of a 64-year-old woman diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hilar lymph node metastasis who underwent radical surgery. Postoperative pathology confirmed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma.

Over the past three decades, traditional Chinese exercises (TCEs) has gained increasing recognition for its ability to regulate mental well-being. The aim of this study (PROSPERO CRD42024516002) was to comprehensively assess and carry out a meta-analysis on the impact of traditional Chinese exercise on personal mental well-being amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liver transplantation is the best way to treat end-stage liver disease. With benefits from enhanced techniques, refined management, and advanced medications, liver transplant boasts a commendable 5-year survival rate for recipients. Nevertheless, acquiring the perioperative management and surgical skills essential for liver transplant is a time-consuming process for new surgeons.

The present study reports the case of a 40-year-old female patient with severe epigastric pain, initially suspected to be a liver lesion, who was admitted to The Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University (Zunyi, China). A combination of diagnostic procedures, including computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, revealed an abnormality in the left hepatic lobe.

Aims: To investigate the potential association between type 2 diabetes (T2D) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in East Asian populations using Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses.
Methods: Bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) studies were conducted using summary statistics from genome-wide association studies (GWAS) related to T2D and HCC. The potential effects of confounders such as chronic hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis C, body mass index, and alcohol intake frequency were corrected using a multivariate MR study.

Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and oncologic outcomes associated with endoscopic thyroidectomy via the areolar approach (ETAA), compared with conventional open thyroidectomy (COT) for the treatment of stage T1 papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).
Methods: Between January 2021 and June 2022, a total of 1204 patients diagnosed with PTC underwent screening, out of which 138 patients were selected for inclusion in the study population after propensity score matching (92 patients in the ETAA group and 46 patients in the COT group). The study included the collection and analysis of clinicopathologic characteristics, intraoperative outcomes, postoperative outcomes, complications, and follow-up data using R software.

Background: Recent studies have reported associations between body mass index (BMI) and various autoimmune disorders. However, it is still uncertain whether there exists a direct cause-and-effect relationship between BMI and autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT). The aim of our study is to investigate the causal association between BMI and AIT.

Sixty patients who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study were selected. Sufentanil was administered intravenously and remimazolam besylate was administered 2 min later.

Many patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (aHCC) experience disease progression after treatment with lenvatinib (Lenva) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Therefore, we designed a double-arm retrospective study to evaluate the antitumour activity of additional bevacizumab (Beva, an anti-vascular endothelial growth factor-targeting drug) as a means to reduce the blood vessels needed for tumour growth.

Introduction: Acute biliary pancreatitis (ABP) is a type of acute abdomen caused by biliary tract diseases that trigger outflow obstruction, hypertension of the pancreatic duct, and subsequent pancreatic autodigestion.
Aim: To investigate the clinical efficacy of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in the treatment of ABP.
Material And Methods: A comprehensive literature search was performed on four databases (PubMed/WOS/CNKI/Wanfang) to select randomized controlled trials on ERCP for ABP published between 2010 and 2022.
Background: Nesidioblastosis usually refers to a series of clinical manifestations caused by the proliferation of β-cells in pancreatic islets, and these clinical manifestations are hyperinsulinemia and persistent hypoglycemia. According to the size of the lesion, nesidioblastosis is divided into focal nesidioblastosis, diffuse nesidioblastosis and atypical nesidioblastosis, and its pathogenesis is still unclear. Nesidioblastosis is mainly seen in infants and rarely reported in adults, especially focal nesidioblastosis, which is difficult to distinguish from insulinoma.
