By reanalyzing the genomes of two representative families (Cucurbitaceae and Begoniaceae) in Cucurbitales, we found that the previously identified Cucurbitaceae common paleotetraploidization that occurred shortly after the core-eudicot-common hexaploidization event is shared by Cucurbitales, including Begoniaceae.
