The chemical constituents from Cephalotaxus lanceolata were isolated and purified by using multiple chromatographic techniques, including octadecylsilane(ODS), silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and semi-preparative high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). A total of 17 compounds obtained were identified by using spectroscopic methods such as nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR), mass spectrometry(MS), and ultraviolet(UV) combined with literature data. Compound 1 was a new alkaloid dimer, named cephalancetine E.

Ergothioneine (EGT), potent antioxidant from edible fungi and certain prokaryotes, regulates the antioxidant defense system. However, its anti-aging effects on hair follicles (HFs) remain obscure.

Despite its potential, switchgrass seedlings grow slowly, often losing out to weeds in field conditions and producing limited biomass in the first year of planting.

Upon cooling, semicrystalline polymers experience crystallization and form alternatively stacked layers consisting of thin crystal lamellae and amorphous ones. The unique morphology, crystallinity, and crystallization kinetics highly depend on the molecular weight. Therefore, it is deduced that entanglement impacts crystallization kinetics, as well as hierarchically crystalline structures.

To analyze the reaction of immature embryos infected, which seemed to provide the necessary by in PureWheat, a combination of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), complete transcriptome analysis, and metabolome analysis was conducted to understand the progress. The results of the SEM analysis revealed that were deposited under the damaged cortex of immature embryos as a result of pretreatment and contacted the receptor cells to improve the TE.

Background: There is currently a lack of model for predicting the occurrence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with lung cancer. Machine learning (ML) techniques are being increasingly adapted for use in the medical field because of their capabilities of intelligent analysis and scalability. This study aimed to develop and validate ML models to predict the incidence of VTE among lung cancer patients.

The evergrowing plastic production and the caused concerns of plastic waste accumulation have stimulated the need for waste plastic chemical recycling/valorization. Current methods suffer from harsh reaction conditions and long reaction time. Herein we demonstrate a non-thermal plasma-assisted method for rapid hydrogenolysis of polystyrene (PS) at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure, generating high yield (>40 wt%) of C-C hydrocarbons and ethylene being the dominant gas product (Selectivity of ethylene, S > 70%) within ~10 min.

The aforementioned characteristic traits make melanin a potential candidate for biomedical, separation, structural coloration, and space applications. However, the commercially available natural (sepia) and synthetic melanin are very expensive, limiting their use in various applications.
