In this report, we demonstrate the first application of lead-free double perovskite microcrystals (CsAgBiBr MCs) in sustainable C-C coupling reactions. The CsAgBiBr MCs catalyst exhibits ultrahigh activity and selectivity in the α-alkylation of aldehyde and 2-bromoacetophenone, achieving a reaction rate of 2687.5 mmolgh, a turnover number (TON) value of 22854.

A novel magnetic hollowed CoFe@C-650 prism catalyst has been successfully prepared and applied in the N-alkylation of alcohols and amines through a hydrogen borrowing strategy. The catalyst demonstrates good to excellent activities in the reaction with a broad substrate scope to afford up to a 99% yield of target products. A preliminary mechanistic study reveals that a high valent Co species in the catalyst may promote the adsorption and conversion of alcohols, while the Fe species assists in hydrogenating the imine intermediates.

A three-dimensional hollow CoFe oxide prism catalyst was successfully prepared via a self-template strategy. This bimetallic oxide catalyst demonstrated excellent catalytic activity in cross-dehydrogenative coupling reactions of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines under mild conditions compared to its monometallic oxide counterparts. A preliminary mechanistic investigation showed the involvement of reactive oxygen species, produced from molecular O by the active bimetallic oxide catalyst in the catalytic cycle.
