Introduction: Aggressive fibromatosis (AF) of the mandible is a rare, locally invasive tumor with significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. The incidence of AF in the head and neck region is estimated at 2-4 cases per 10 million people annually, with mandibular involvement being even less common. Its infiltrative nature and high recurrence risk necessitate meticulous surgical planning and prolonged follow-up.

Objective: Cisplatin-based chemotherapy is widely used for the treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), but drug resistance and decreased sensitivity often occur during the treatment, greatly weakening its therapeutic effect. Caveolin-1 (CAV1), a protein related to ferroptosis, is involved in regulating the resistance and sensitivity of various tumor chemotherapies. This study aims to investigate whether CAV1 can regulate the sensitivity of OSCC to cisplatin through ferroptosis.

Tumor-specific antigens (TSA) are central elements in the immune control of cancers. To systematically explore the TSA genome, we developed a computational technology called heterogeneous expression profile analysis (HEPA), which can identify genes relatively uniquely expressed in cancer cells in contrast to normal somatic tissues. Rating human genes by their HEPA score enriched for clinically useful TSA genes, nominating candidate targets whose tumor-specific expression was verified by reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR).
