Background: The clinical efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) associated with intracranial artery dissection (IAD) remains uncertain. This study presents a case of basilar artery dissection (BAD) in a 57-year-old Asian female patient devoid of previous risk factors for stroke who experienced a sudden onset of consciousness disturbance. The patient's clinical condition deteriorated during IVT administration, but subsequent medical intervention and rehabilitative exercises facilitated eventual recovery of daily functioning.

Methods: The study included 35 AD patients and 35 healthy controls. In vitro experiments were conducted using microglial cell lines HMC3 and BV2, which were treated with Aβ25-35, and gene knockout or overexpression experiments were performed to verify the function of the target genes.

Background: The main purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between moral sensitivity, empathy, and caring behaviors and to explore the mediating effect of empathy on moral sensitivity and caring behaviors of nursing interns.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from August to September 2022 in which 261 nursing interns from two Grade 3A Hospitals in Xi'an participated. The questionnaires used in the survey include the General Information Questionnaire (GIQ), the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire-Revised Version translated into Chinese (MSQ R-CV), the Chinese version of the Jefferson Empathy Scale (JSE), and the Chinese version of the Caring Behavior Inventory (C-CBI).

Background: Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is a common disease with easy persistence and recurrence. In clinical practice, although many methods have been adopted to prevent and treat MPS, the control of MPS is still not satisfactory.
Objective: To compare the safety and effectiveness of buccal acupuncture, inactivation of trigger points (MTrPs), and their combination in the treatment of MPS.
Background: Here, we present a unique case of mitochondrial encephalomyopathy with lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes (MELAS) syndrome, which initially appeared to be autoimmune encephalitis and was ultimately confirmed as MELAS with the mitochondrial DNA 3243A>G mutation.
Case Summary: A 58-year-old female presented with acute-onset speech impediment and auditory hallucinations, symmetrical bitemporal lobe abnormalities, clinical and laboratory findings, and a lack of relevant prodromal history, which suggested diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis. Further work-up, in conjunction with the patient's medical history, family history, and lactate peak on brain lesions on magnetic resonance imaging, suggested a mitochondrial disorder.
Background: Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (anti-NMDAR) encephalitis is a treatable but frequently misdiagnosed autoimmune disease. Speech dysfunction, as one of the common manifestations of anti-NMDAR encephalitis, is usually reported as a symptom secondary to psychiatric symptoms or seizures rather than the initial symptom in a paroxysmal form. We report a case of anti-NMDAR encephalitis with paroxysmal speech disorder as a rare initial manifestation, and hope that it will contribute to the literature.

Background: Understanding the influencing factors of career success is important for the professional development of nurses and the improvement of clinical nursing quality. Many influencing factors of career success have been identified, but there is no large-scale research on the relationships among self-efficacy, information literacy, social support and career success of clinical nurses based on Kaleidoscope Career Model.
Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignant neoplasms. Invasion and metastasis are the main causes of GC-related deaths. Recently, kinesins were discovered to be involved in tumor development.

We investigated the effect of the recombinant protein ephB4-Fc (erythropoietin-producing human hepatocellular receptor 4) on wear particle-mediated inflammatory response. In vitro, ephrinB2 expression was analyzed using siRNA-NFATc1 (nuclear factor of activated T-cells 1) and siRNA-c-Fos.

Objectives: To introduce a new method of pelvic incidence (PI) measurement based on three-dimensional (3D) pelvic models reconstructed from CT images and to report the normal distribution of PI in normal pelvic anatomy.
Methods: CT images of 320 subjects with normal pelvic anatomy who visited the Radiology Department between 2006 and 2017 were retrospectively selected and saved in Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) format. A computerized method was employed to determine the bony landmarks required for the measurement of PI.

Pelvic incidence has become one of the most important sagittal parameters in spinal surgery. Despite its great importance, pelvic incidence can vary from 33° to 85° in the normal population. The reasons for this great variability in pelvic incidence remain unexplored.

Objective: Uterine adenomatoid tumors (UATs) are tubercle without significant clinical features. The study aims to summarize the clinicopathological characteristics of UATs to improve diagnostic accuracy.
Methods: Between January 2014 and December 2015, 4326 uterine specimens were collected from patients who received hysterectomy or myomectomy, of which 102 cases were pathologically confirmed as UATs.
The protocadherin 7 is a member of the protocadherin family that expressed aberrantly in many types of human cancers. However, its expression, function, and underlying mechanisms are little known in gastric cancer. In this study, we detected protocadherin 7 expression in gastric cancer tissues and non-tumorous gastric mucosa tissues by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry.

In the present study, VEGF-C protein expression and the density of blood vessels or lymphatic vessels were determined by immunohistochemistry in 103 cases of gastric cancer tissues. Suppression of VEGF-C by miR-27b, miR-101 and miR-128 was investigated by luciferase assays, Western blot and ELISA.

Recently, clinical studies found that this class of agents also shows significant efficacy in promoting neurogenesis, neuroplasticity and neurorecovery following stroke. Here, we attempt to elucidate molecular mechanism and biological implication underlying the SSRI-mediated neurorecovery.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor AG490 on invasion and metastasis of the human breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231, and to explore the regulating role of JAK-STAT3 signaling pathway when the breast cancer occurs to the invasiveness and metastasis.
Methods: The human breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231 was used as the research object, and AG490 was as Janus kinase inhibitor. The adhesion of MDA-MB-231 cell attaching to matrigel was measured with MTT assay.

Objective: To study the changes in humoral immunological function and their clinical significance in cerebral hemorrhage.
Methods: Among 115 cases of cerebral hemorrhage, there was low volume bleeding in 39 case, middle volume in 37 cases, and large volume in 39 cases. The ratios of CD19+-CD25+ and CD19+-CD25-B lymphocytes were determined by flow cytometry, and the content of IgA, IgG, IgM, and complement C3 were determined with scattered turbidimetry.
