A female patient in her 60s tested positive for the fecal occult blood test while undergoing health screening. Colonoscopy revealed a 15-mm-sized flat elevated lesion with a central depression in the sigmoid colon. Narrow-band imaging magnification revealed a Japan Narrow-Band Imaging Expert Team classification of type 2B, whereas crystal violet staining showed a mild to severely irregular type VI pit pattern.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have demonstrated efficacy against various cancers; however, there is a rising incidence of immune-related colitis. Some cases of immune-related colitis prove resistant to treatment, even with the administration of glucocorticoids or infliximab, and there is currently no established standard treatment for such cases.
Case: The patient, a 73-year-old male, had undergone combination therapy for malignant pleural mesothelioma for 2 years, utilizing both ipilimumab (a CTLA-4 inhibitor) and nivolumab (a PD-1 inhibitor).
The Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society published the latest English versions of the guidelines for endoscopic submucosal dissection and endoscopic mucosal resection for colorectal neoplastic lesions and colorectal cold polypectomy in 2020 and 2022, respectively. In this article, I present a comprehensive overview of these guidelines, including a comparison with the Western recommendations.

However, no such reports have been reported in biotherapy-naïve cases.
Methods: Sixty-eight patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) who were biotherapy-naïve at Kindai University Hospital between October 2021 and October 2022 were enrolled.
Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is caused by pathogenic variants of the APC gene on the long arm of chromosome 5. An analysis showed an association between germline APC gene variants and clinical signs of FAP; however, attenuated FAP has also been reported in cases with pathogenic variants. In contrast, a phenotype of FAP with no APC germline pathogenic variant and with few signs has been reported.

Increased detection of LNPCPs owing to screening colonoscopy, plus high observed rates of incomplete resection and need for surgery call for a standardized approach to training in EMR. 1 : Trainees in EMR should have achieved basic competence in diagnostic colonoscopy, < 10-mm polypectomy, pedunculated polypectomy, and common methods of gastrointestinal endoscopic hemostasis.

Previous contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT) for follow-up after breast cancer surgery had indicated a soft tissue mass below the right diaphragm, which was considered a benign change. Background: This is the first report from a multicenter prospective cohort study of colorectal neuroendocrine tumor (NET), the C-NET STUDY, conducted to assess the long-term outcomes of the enrolled patients. This report aimed to elucidate the clinicopathological features of the enrolled patients and lesions.
Methods: Colorectal NET patients aged 20-74 years were consecutively enrolled and followed up at 50 institutions.
The Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society published the second edition of the "Guidelines for Colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection" in 2019 to clarify the indications for colorectal endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection and to ensure appropriate preoperative diagnoses as well as effective and safe endoscopic treatment in front-line clinical settings. Endoscopic resection with electrocautery, including polypectomy and EMR, is indicated for colorectal polyps. Recently, the number of facilities introducing and implementing cold polypectomy without electrocautery has increased.

Materials And Methods: Comprehensive, computerized research was performed on PubMed and published from 1 January 2010 to 6 July 2018 which searched relevant articles without any language limitations. Clinical trials were included in the narrative systemic review if they matched the following inclusion criteria: (1) published as a case-controlled study, cohort study or cross-sectional study; (2) defined objectively for diagnosis of SSL within the studies; (3) addressed the prevalence and characteristics of SSL.
Given that sustained remission is the ultimate treatment goal in the management of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), the decision to stop anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) treatment in UC patients is difficult. The aim of this study was to evaluate mucosal microbiota and gene expression profiles associated with long-term remission after discontinuation of anti-TNF therapy. In nine UC patients who received anti-TNF therapy for 6 months, microbiota isolated from uninflamed mucosae and gene expression in inflamed and uninflamed mucosae were investigated at week 0 and at week 24.
