Repeated neonatal general anesthesia results in long-term cognitive dysfunction; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study finds that repeated neonatal anesthesia impaired fear memory in adolescent mice of both sexes, along with hypoactivated glutamatergic neurons in the paraventricular thalamus (PVT). Optogenetic activation of PVT glutamatergic neurons rescued fear memory deficits in anesthesia-treated mice, whereas optogenetic inhibition of these neurons recapitulated memory deficits in control mice.

Based on direct hygroscopicity measurements conducted across diverse environments, this study quantified the impact of aerosol hygroscopicity on respiratory deposition utilizing the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) model. Our results demonstrate that hygroscopic growth of particles in the HRT notably reduces the total deposition fraction (TDF) for number by as much as 12%, whereas it significantly increases TDF for particle mass by up to 49% for submicrometer particles from various regional backgrounds.

The aim of this study is to investigate the combined association of those stepwise interventions with OHCA management in Shenzhen, as a representative city in China.
Methods: This registry-based retrospective study included emergency medical services (EMS)-treated adult OHCA patients with presumed cardiac etiology in Shenzhen, China, covering the period from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2022.
Background: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are common complications following general anesthesia, particularly in gynecological laparoscopic surgeries. This study aims to evaluate the effect of intraoperative noise isolation on PONV incidence.
Method: This single-center, prospective, randomized controlled trial will enroll 192 adult patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
This study investigated the influence of Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean football players' participation in European leagues on their national teams' FIFA rankings from 2000 to 2024. Utilizing data from 22,972 matches featuring 392 players across 36 European leagues and 12 tournaments or cup competitions, survival and conditional process analyses were conducted to explore the relationships between expatriate player counts, appearances, playing time, and FIFA rankings. The results demonstrated a significant correlation between the number of expatriate players, particularly in top-tier leagues, and national team rankings.

Methods: The full-thickness nasolabial facial artery flap was used for reconstruction of defects in lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) patients after tumor ablation.
This study examined the impact of COVID-19 on 28 indicators of match technical performance (MTP) for football attacking players upon their return to play. Analyzing data from 100 players in the Big Five European football leagues, covering 1500 matches each before and after COVID-19 over 3 years (2020-2023), revealed significant differences in 76% of players' MTP indicators. Notably, 14 indicators, particularly the five indicators linked to scoring, significantly decreased post-COVID-19.
