Lead (Pb) is highly toxic and widely distributed in the soil, causing adverse effects on plant growth and yield formation. Herein, the combination of transmission electron microscope (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and comparative transcriptome analyses was conducted to reveal the cytological mechanism and regulatory network of in the ZmbZIP54-mediated Pb tolerance in maize. As results, ZmbZIP54 helped in Pb retention in the cell wall and intercellular space, inhibiting Pb entering the cells and reducing its toxic effects on cell ultrastructure.

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is associated with high mortality, heavy economic burden, limited treatment options and poor prognosis, and seriously affects the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and life expectancy of patients. This systematic review and meta-analysis of HRQoL and health state utility value (HSUV) in IPF patients and the instruments used in this assessment aimed to provide information sources and data support for the future research on IPF HRQoL and HSUV.

Methods: We searched the PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science and Cochrane Library databases for studies reporting the HRQoL or HSUV of IPF patients, with the retrieval time from the establishment of each database to April 2024.

Engineering of the interface between the perovskite and hole transport layer (HTL) has been crucial to achieving high performance. In this study, two interfacial materials, MN-CZ and CN-CZ, are designed by systematically regulating the group substitution site to study the relationship between spatial conformation and the passivation effect. The passivation groups of CN-CZ molecules exhibit a stronger "vector addition" effect, resulting in larger molecular dipoles and enhanced defect passivation and energy level regulation effects.

The oxidation of Sn can occur even after the completion of the perovskite crystallization in a low oxygen environment. Concerning this, the natural antioxidant vitamin C (VC) is introduced to the surface of Sn-Pb mixed perovskite using a postprocessing method to achieve the purpose of inhibiting Sn oxidation and enhancing perovskite solar cells performance. The results indicate that the VC could effectively inhibit Sn oxidation and heal the vacancy defects of the annealed perovskite film.

Photocatalytic membranes are typical multifunctional membranes that have emerged in recent years. The lack of active functional groups on the surface of membranes made of inert materials such as polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) makes it difficult to have a stable binding interaction with photocatalysts directly. Myocardial cell death during acute myocardial infarction occurs because of acute ischemia, persistent ischemia, reperfusion-associated injury, and the inflammatory infiltrate as a response to cell necrosis. In the present study, quantitative real-time PCR showed that lncRNA Gm4419 was highly upregulated in ischemia/reperfusion myocardial tissues and hypoxia/reoxygenation H9C2 cells, whereas miR-682 was downregulated. Knocking down Gm4419 with sh-Gm4419 resulted in the rescue of myocardial infarction and apoptosis induced by ischemia/reperfusion or hypoxia/reoxygenation.
