Background: Liposomal amphotericin B (LAmB) is widely used for prophylaxis in paediatric patients at high risk of invasive fungal diseases (IFD) but its use is off-label and there is significant variability in dosage and frequency. This systematic review was conducted to evaluate the published data on prophylactic LAmB use in the paediatric population and to present the reported proportions of breakthrough IFD and the associated toxicity profile.

Methods: EMBASE, Medline, Web of Science and the Cochrane Database were systematically searched for primary research reporting on the use of LAmB as prophylaxis for IFD in the paediatric population up to 7 December 2023, following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.

Introduction: This observational prospective longitudinal multicenter study examines the occurrence and characteristics of long COVID (LC) in the Italian pediatric population.

Methods: Conducted across 12 Pediatric Units in Italy from January to March 2022, the study involved 1129 children diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Data were collected via self-administered questionnaires at 1-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-12 months post-infection, with LC defined as symptoms persisting for at least 2 months and occurring 3 months post-diagnosis.

The treatment of chronic neutropenias and control of neutropenia-related infections remain challenging topics for pediatric and adult hematologists. This article aims to fill the gap in the treatment of neutropenias and, in combination with the previously published European guidelines on diagnosis of neutropenias, gives complete and comprehensive guidance on the whole management of patients with neutropenia. Introduction: This retrospective analysis aims to follow the course of SARS-CoV-2 infections in pediatric population residing in Liguria, North-west Italy, from March 2020 to December 2022 and to relate it to the regional and national containment measures adopted, to assess the representativeness of the infection rate observed at the national level and to analyze the vaccination rates in different pediatric groups.

Methods: First episodes of SARS-CoV-2 infections registered in the national surveillance system were extracted and further anonymously analyzed for subjects aging ≤ 19 years. Of 319 children with invasive candidiasis, 67 (21%) transitioned from intravenous to enteral antifungal therapy. Eight (12%) transitioned back to intravenous antifungal therapy, one due to perceived treatment failure defined by clinical progression or worsening.
