Here, we have designed and developed superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs)-functionalized nanorobots (SPIONs-NR), a system that is significantly smaller in size and has larger magnetic anisotropy and steerability than most previously reported superparamagnetic microrobots.
