This study evaluated the chemical composition and subcutaneous tissue biocompatibility of C-Point, a root canal filling material, compared to ProTaper gutta-percha cones (control). Material characterization was conducted using scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). Background: The interaction between the surface of the implant and the human body results in a local and systemic inflammatory reaction that leads to the formation of a peri-implant capsule and entails complications. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the local and systemic inflammatory reactions of silicone implants coated with polyurethane foam and those with a nanotextured surface.

Methods: Using indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, the levels of interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) were measured in the serum and per-implant capsule of rats submitted to surgical placement of the 2 different types of implants.

This article aims to systematize and analyze, from a historical perspective, the discussions that permeated the topic of indigenous health in interface with the demography of these populations, based on the political dimension that the quantification of indigenous peoples assumed during the military dictatorship in Brazil. Covering an extensive period that extends from the establishment of the Indian Protection Service in 1910 until the end of the 1980s, this article offers a comprehensive view of the topic. The analysis focuses primarily on the 1970s, highlighting the actors involved in this debate: indigenous leaders, indigenists, academics, health professionals, and missionaries.

Objectives: The primary objective of the presented study is to analyze the respiratory and functional effects of a rehabilitation program in patients affected by hospitalization in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to COVID-19, in comparison with the group treated with standard of care, at discharge endpoint. The secondary objectives of the presented study are to evaluate different outcomes of the rehabilitation program in comparison to standard of care regarding: functional performance at 4-week and 12-week post- discharge mark; health-related quality of life, the impact on the health services (namely days of hospitalization), the cost-effectiveness of the intervention proposed.
