Aim: To evaluate the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) for predicting outcomes in elderly long-term care patients.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study analyzed health records of 172 hospitalized patients (aged ≥60) from Rumailah Hospital's Geriatrics and Long-term Care Department, Qatar. CCI weights were updated using hazard ratios.
Background: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic necessitates quarantine measures for travelers, including those with multiple comorbidities. This study examined the effectiveness of a multidisciplinary approach in managing high-risk patients admitted to a quarantine facility in Qatar during the pandemic.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 62 patients admitted to the quarantine facility of the Rumailah Hospital from March 1 to October 25, 2020.
Background: Studies conducted on Western populations have shown that the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) is a major predictor of adverse outcomes in older patients with hip fractures; however, there are no data on Middle Eastern populations, who may be culturally and ethnically different. We examined the association between the preoperative Clinical Frailty Scale and multiple adverse outcomes in a cohort of patients with hip fractures (aged 60-96 years) in Qatar.
Methods: This prospective, single-center observational cohort study included 155 patients aged ≥ 60 years with hip fractures from Qatar.

Acute anal fissure maintains a debilitating state that produces enduring wound damage on the anal mucosa while the internal anal sphincter demonstrates increased muscle tone. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive systematic review to evaluate the efficacy of botulinum toxin (BT) in the treatment of chronic anal fissure, synthesizing current evidence from clinical trials and observational studies to guide evidence-based practice. A review of systematic research investigates the performance and security along with extended outcomes linked to BT therapy for treating chronic anal fissure by analyzing 23 clinical studies.
