Background: Gastrointestinal perforation peritonitis is a life-threatening surgical emergency with high mortality. Early identification of patients at increased risk of poor outcomes is critical for optimizing care. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of combining serial Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II) scores and serial serum lactate levels in predicting 30-day postoperative mortality among patients undergoing emergency laparotomy for gastrointestinal perforation peritonitis.

This study evaluates the management strategies and factors predicting outcomes following emergency umbilical hernia repair. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on six patients with decompensated chronic liver disease who presented with complicated umbilical hernia in an emergency setting to the hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgical unit between July and December 2024.

This paper aims to review the synthesis, properties and applications of eggshell-derived hydroxyapatite (E-HAp) in dentistry.
Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed and Scopus databases, along with a grey literature search.
Brønsted acid-promoted synthesis of highly functionalized tetrahydrocarbazoles from indoles and easily accessible diethyl ()-5-diazo-4-oxohex-2-enedioate has been achieved. Diethyl ()-5-diazo-4-oxohex-2-enedioate acts as a 1,4-diacceptor and undergoes tandem Michael addition followed by nucleophilic substitution at the diazo carbon with indole in the presence of a strong Brønsted acid.

Objectives: To analyze the evidence available reporting complications in single or two-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) using a demineralized bone matrix (DBM), hydroxyapatite (HA), or beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP).
Methods: A systematic review of the literature using PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and ClinicalTrials.
Study Design: Systematic Review of the Literature.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic review describing fusion rates for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) using autograft vs various interbody devices augmented with different osteobiologic materials.
Methods: A systematic review limited to the English language was performed in Medline, Embase and Cochrane library using Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) terms.
As the second wave of COVID-19 disease is gripping the globe, liver transplant centers are increasingly receiving patients recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection in recent few weeks. Unexpected complications in these patients are increasingly being recognized. We performed liver transplantation on a 51-year-old gentleman with decompensated liver disease 23 days after recovering from a mild SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Study Design: Observational study.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the surgeon's neck postures while performing lumbar spinal surgeries.
Overview Of Literature: Lumbar spinal surgeries are on rising trend, and with increase in number of procedures, the average time spent by a spine surgeon performing surgical procedures is also increasing.
Study Design: Prospective cohort study.
Objective: To analyze the serum and drain concentrations of antibiotics administered by two different routes and compare the results.
Summary Of Background Data: Systemic antibiotics are expected to reach the surgical site and maintain adequate concentrations of the drug to prevent infection.

Aim: To determine the prevalence of early childhood caries (ECC) and its risk factors in children of West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
Study Design: A sample of 1,897 children between 24 and 71 months of age based on stratified cluster random sampling were clinically examined for dental caries using mouth mirror under day light. The parents/caregivers of each child were interviewed with a structured questionnaire.
Unlabelled: Currently available codon usage analysis tools lack intuitive graphical user interface and are limited to inbuilt calculations. ACUA (Automated Codon Usage Tool) has been developed to perform high throughput sequence analysis aiding statistical profiling of codon usage. The results of ACUA are presented in a spreadsheet with all perquisite codon usage data required for statistical analysis, displayed in a graphical interface.

The aqueous and successive extracts of the fruit pulp of Emblica officinalis and fresh leaves and stems of Ocimum sanctum were prepared and evaluated for antimicrobial activity. The successive extracts such as petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol were prepared by successive solvent extraction method and aqueous extract by maceration process and screened for antimicrobial activity against gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, gram negative bacteria E.coli and fungal strains of Candida species by using agar cup plate method.
