Metal-core piezoelectric fibers (MPF)are coaxial fibers composed of a metal core, piezoelectric material, conductive material, and insulating material. They possess piezoelectric effects and hold great application potential in sensors and intelligent products. The most commonly used preparation method for metal-core piezoelectric fibers is electrospinning.

Nucleic acid-based techniques could achieve highly sensitive detection by amplifying template molecules to millions of folds. It has been one of the most valued analytical methods and is applied in many detection fields, such as diagnosis of infectious diseases, food safety assurance and so on. Nucleic acid-based techniques consist of three steps: nucleic acid extraction, amplification, and product detection.

A new flavonoid glycoside, diosmetin 7-O-beta-D-xylopyranosyl(1-6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside, named raddeanalin (1), was isolated from the ethanolic extract of the leaves of Salix raddeana Laksh. together with three known compounds, kaempferol 3-O-glucoside (2), quercetin 3-O-glucoside (3) and quercetin 3-O-rutinoside (4). The structure of new compound was established by the spectral data and chemical properties.

Investigation of the conformational properties of a SAW polymer chain near an impenetrable, non-interacting flat surface showed that the chain at first contracted and orientated itself to slightly parallel when it pulled close to the surface and at last elongated and reoriented itself to slightly perpendicular to the surface at very small distance from the surface. Simulation showed that most of the disappeared configurations were of large size at moderate distance from the surface while they were of small size at very small distance from the surface; and that the mean-square end-to-end distance . The orientational correlation between the direction of the longest principal axis of the moment of inertia and end-to-end vector was also discussed.

In an optical parametric generation of a femtosecond pulse for a biaxial crystal, the interaction of three waves can be used as a model of noncollinear phase matching in which the group velocities of the interacting pulses are suitably linked to each other. For satisfaction of group-velocity matching, the tunable parametric generation of femtosecond pulses must use noncollinear phase matching. We consider three conditions of group-velocity matching for femtosecond pulses.

We examined the accuracy of a highly-familiar-face representation in memory. In experiment 1, a famous portrait of Chairman Mao was digitally altered in terms of the distance between his two eyes, two pixels at a time. Mainland Chinese adults were shown the original or altered photos, one at a time, and asked to determine whether each was that of Chairman Mao or altered.
