Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is frequently diagnosed during reproductive ages, but its impact on pregnancy remains unclear. We aimed to evaluate maternal and neonatal outcomes in FMF pregnancies by comparing before and after diagnosis periods as well as with healthy controls, and to identify predictors of adverse outcomes. This retrospective, cross-sectional study included 215 pregnancies (129 before and 86 after FMF diagnosis) from 81 women with FMF and 94 pregnancies from 42 healthy controls.

Objectives: Juvenile psoriatic arthritis (JPsA), a subtype of juvenile idiopathic arthritis, is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by joint and skin involvement. Microvascular alterations, including endothelial dysfunction and inflammation, are thought to contribute to its pathophysiology. Nailfold videocapillaroscopy (NVC) is a non-invasive technique for assessing microvascular changes.

Objectives: To evaluate and compare maternal and neonatal outcomes in dichorionic diamniotic (DCDA) twin pregnancies conceived via assisted reproductive technology (ART) versus those conceived spontaneously (SC).

Material And Methods: This single-center, retrospective cohort study included 852 DCDA twin pregnancies, with 591 conceived spontaneously (SC group) and 261 conceived via ART (ART group). Maternal and neonatal outcomes were extracted from the hospital's automation system and analyzed using statistical methods, including chi-square and Mantel-Haenszel chi-square tests, to account for potential confounding factors.

Prenatal Predictors and Early Postnatal Outcomes in Fetuses Diagnosed with Tricuspid Atresia.

Diagnostics (Basel)

December 2024

Zeynep Kamil Women and Children's Diseases Training and Research Hospital, Department of Perinatology, Health Science University, Istanbul 34668, Turkey.

To assess the prenatal course and early postnatal outcomes of fetuses diagnosed with tricuspid atresia and to identify predictors of survival. This was a retrospective study of 25 fetuses diagnosed with tricuspid atresia in a single tertiary referral center, evaluating prenatal echocardiographic features and postnatal outcomes. A total of 4 of 29 initially diagnosed fetuses were excluded due to changes in diagnosis or loss to follow-up, leaving 25 fetuses for analysis.

Purpose: We presented the experience of a tertiary care center for maternal and fetal diseases and assessed the findings fetuses with double-inlet left ventricle (DILV) regarding fetal echocardiography, prenatal course including fetal growth and death, and postnatal outcome.

Methods: In this retrospective study, patients diagnosed with DILV via prenatal ultrasound in the maternal-fetal medicine department between 2015 and 2023 were included to evaluate important aspects of prenatal diagnosis and course, as well as postnatal management and outcome.

Results: There were 33 DILV cases prenatally diagnosed and postnatally confirmed.

Introduction: Persistent right umbilical vein (PRUV) is an embryonic vascular abnormality. Recent studies suggested that the perinatal outcome was good and the risk of aneuploidy was low in isolated forms. Our purpose in this study was to assess the relation of PRUV with genetic abnormalities and demonstrate concomitant malformations and perinatal outcomes of these fetuses.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of obesity on clinical outcomes in diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) patients undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles. In this retrospective observational cross-sectional study, women admitted to current clinic with DOR undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection were divided into 2 groups according to the obesity. Patient age, body mass index, anti-mullerian hormone, baseline follicle stimulating hormone and baseline estradiol levels, antral follicle count, total gonadotropin dose, day of stimulation, number of mature (MII) oocytes, and clinical pregnancy were evaluated.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines factors contributing to empty follicle syndrome (EFS) in patients with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection.
  • Researchers analyzed data from patients divided into two groups based on the presence of empty follicles at oocyte retrieval, focusing on variables like age, BMI, hormone levels, and treatment specifics.
  • Findings identified increased BMI, low AMH, high baseline FSH, low baseline AFC, high gonadotropin dosage, and extended ovulation induction time as independent risk factors for EFS in this population.
