Little is known about the associations between chrononutrition and sleep behaviours with glycaemic responses. Hence, this study aimed to examine the associations between chrononutrition, sleep behaviours and glycaemic outcomes among adults with prediabetes. This was a cross-sectional study within a prospective longitudinal study in Malaysia.

Background: Female undergraduates are a high-risk population for body image dissatisfaction and eating disorder symptomatology. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of body image dissatisfaction and disordered eating behaviors, as well as to examine the mediating roles of two emotion regulation strategies (cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression) on the relationship between body image dissatisfaction and disordered eating behaviors among female undergraduate students in China.
Methods: A total of 1756 Chinese female students, with a mean age of 19.

Background And Objective: Exploring the dependencies between multimodal brain networks and integrating node features to enhance brain disease diagnosis remains a significant challenge. Some work has examined only brain connectivity changes in patients, ignoring important information about radiomics features such as shape and texture of individual brain regions in structural images. To this end, this study proposed a novel deep learning approach to integrate multimodal brain connectome information and regional radiomics features for brain disease diagnosis.

Purpose: While the theory of consumption values (TCV) has explained various aspects of consumer choice, its application to plant-based meat is limited. This study addresses this gap by using TCV to understand plant-based meat purchase intentions, comparing and contrasting vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
Design/methodology/approach: Using mixed methods, the authors developed a questionnaire from focus groups (n = 16) and surveyed 402 participants (200 non-vegetarians, 202 vegetarians).

This study compared the associations of social support, well-being, life satisfaction, and psychological distress in two Asian contexts: Bhutan and Malaysia. Data from 436 participants revealed more differences than similarities in the hypothesized associations. Among the differences, social support from family, friends, and significant other exhibited no significant association with psychological distress among the Malaysian sample, but these support systems demonstrated differential impacts on the Bhutanese sample.

The hydantoin scaffold is renowned for its wide-ranging biological activities, including antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and anticonvulsant effects. In this study, we present an innovative, sustainable approach to synthesizing hydantoins (-) directly from amino acids. This method employs a column chromatography-free, two-step, one-pot microwave-assisted synthesis that delivers hydantoins in yields ranging from 34% to 89%.

Copolymerization is a cooperative polymerization that involves two or more different monomers that are incorporated into the same polymer chain. It allows the development of unlimited range of polymers, tunable properties and surface modifications. In this study, the oil-free base treated soybean waste was used as a biomass precursor and it was copolymerized with acrylamide through the free radical polymerization with potassium persulfate as initiator.

Economic sustainability and the emergence of infectious diseases remain critical challenges in tilapia aquaculture. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are well-known feed additives with probiotic effects in improving overall performance of livestock. This study evaluated the effects of host-associated probiotic, Leuconostoc lactis TARicum AI2, on growth performance, antioxidant, immune responses, and gut microbiota of red hybrid tilapia (Oreochromis sp.

Chrononutrition, which examines the relationship between circadian rhythms and nutrition, has been associated with glycemic outcomes in adults. However, published data on delayed meal timing, increased meal frequency and frequent breakfast skipping have shown inconsistent glycemic outcomes due to variations in methodologies and populations studied. This review presents the scoping review protocol designed to map the evidence on the association between chrononutrition factors and glycemic outcomes in adults.

Patients with type 1 diabetes and their physicians have long desired a fully closed-loop artificial pancreas (AP) system that can alleviate the burden of blood glucose regulation. Although deep reinforcement learning (DRL) methods theoretically enable adaptive insulin dosing control, they face numerous challenges, including safety and training efficiency, which have hindered their clinical application. This paper proposes a safe and efficient adaptive insulin delivery controller based on DRL.

Introduction: Heterogeneity of the clinical manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) may lead to diagnostic delays. This study is aimed at determining the health-seeking behaviour patterns and factors associated with diagnostic delays in a multi-ethnic SLE cohort in Malaysia.
Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study involving SLE patients who visited our institute between January 2020 and June 2021.

, or giant river prawn, is the most economically crucial cultured freshwater crustacean. A predominant challenge in developing crustacean aquaculture is reproduction management, particularly ovary maturation, where identifying regulative mechanisms at the molecular level is critical. Ovary is the primary tissue for studying gene and protein expressions involved in crustacean growth and reproduction.

Background/objectives: Nuclear pleomorphism, a crucial determinant of breast cancer grading under the Nottingham Histopathology Grading (NHG) system, remains inadequately quantified in the existing literature. Motivated by this gap, our study seeks to investigate and establish correlations among morphological features across various scores of nuclear pleomorphism, as per the NHG system. We aim to quantify nuclear pleomorphism across these scores and validate our proposed measurement method against ground-truth data.

Female has become more popular in Malaysia as emerging species mainly for soft-shell crabs and crab fattening (to increase weight, size and ovary maturation so that they can be sold at a higher price). To harvest crabs in soft-shell conditions and fattening, both conditions depend mostly on moulting events. To accelerate the moulting process, the manipulation of water parameter (salinity) and autotomy of the limb is commonly used.

Oral vaccines are generally perceived to be safe, easy to administer, and have the potential to induce both systemic and mucosal immune responses. However, given the challenges posed by the harsh gastrointestinal environment and mucus barriers, the development of oral vaccines necessitates the employment of a safe and efficient delivery system. In recent years, nanoparticle-based delivery has proven to be an ideal delivery vector for the manufacture of oral vaccines.

Dementia is characterized by a progressive decline in cognition, behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD), and quality of life (QoL). The lack of curative therapies has led to a psychosocial discourse prioritizing QoL of people thriving with dementia (PTD). Group reminiscence therapy (RT) is a relatively inexpensive intervention, with music prompts being a preferred choice, owing to robust musical memory in the early disease stage.

Chrononutrition, an emerging body of evidence on the relationship between biological rhythms and metabolism, has been established to be associated with glycemic responses. However, the available evidence is inconsistent, due to protocol variations. Therefore, this review aims to summarize the findings on chrononutrition characteristics and their association with glycemic responses among adults.
