The medical use of cannabis is expanding across many countries, with some legalizing its use outright and others implementing medical licensure systems to approve treatment for eligible patients. Despite this growing interest and utilization, there remains a lack of solid scientific evidence supporting its medical use, even though cannabis has been used therapeutically for thousands of years. The goal of the following communication is to present updated data on the potential roles of cannabis-based treatments in various autoimmune and rheumatic conditions.

Similarly, studies have shown an association between anxious-ambivalent attachment and problematic internet use (PIU). Previous studies have explained this asso-ciation by noting the high interpersonal needs of individuals with anxious-ambivalent attachment who are looking for social contact.

Introduction: Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is an evidence-based treatment for parents of children with anxiety disorders and/or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Given the many barriers to accessing such evidence-based treatments, we evaluated for the first time the application of group-based SPACE, delivered to parents via telemedicine within a public health outpatient setting.
Methods: In this single arm retrospective analysis of routine-care data participants, recruited from a hospital-based anxiety clinic, were mothers (N=50) of fifty children, ages 6.

Background: An association between migraine and hypertension has long been suggested. However, previous studies yielded conflicting results, and only a few were conducted in adolescents. We aimed to investigate the association between migraine and hypertension in a large population-based study of adolescents.

Background: Understanding how body image satisfaction evolves following aesthetic surgery is crucial for psychological adaptation and clinical practice. We systematically reviewed and meta-analyzed satisfaction trends over time following aesthetic surgery to elucidate the psychological adaptation process.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, and PsycINFO (2010-2024) for studies reporting satisfaction at multiple post-operative time points.

Background: Prolonged shifts in residency contribute to physician fatigue, cognitive decline, and increased medical errors. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluate how reducing shift length affects patient-physician safety, physician well-being, and residency training, addressing the ongoing challenge of balancing resident welfare, patient outcomes, and educational standards across varied implementation settings.
Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed, EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, and opengrey.

Background And Aims: We explored whether changes in serum proteomic profiles differed between participants with distinct brain aging trajectories, and whether these changes were influenced by dietary intervention.
Methods: In this secondary analysis of the 18-month DIRECT PLUS trial, 294 participants were randomized to one of three arms: 1) Healthy dietary guidelines (HDG); 2) Mediterranean (MED) diet (+440 mg/day polyphenols from walnuts); or 3) low red/processed meat green-MED diet (+1240 mg/day polyphenols from walnuts, Mankai plant, and green tea). We measured 87 serum proteins (Olink-CVDII).

Cultured meat presents a sustainable alternative to traditional meat production but faces significant challenges in scalability and cost efficiency. A key limitation is the restricted proliferation capacity of bovine mesenchymal stem cells (bMSCs), a widely used cell source in the field. Using a pooled, lentiviral CRISPR knockout screen, we interrogated 3000 CRISPR guides targeting 600 genes involved in stem cell regulation or proliferation.

Background: Despite recent therapeutic advancements, a high-risk scenario for subsequent adverse events remains following ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Risk scores provide important prognostication data following STEMI. However, the most established risk scores are not contemporary, their prognostic accuracy ranges across populations, and they cannot provide patient-centered recommendations.

Verbal communication among expert and nonexpert esport team players during active gameplay of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) was observed and analyzed. By analyzing 4,040 in-game statements comprising 22,490 words (15,727 made by experts and 6,763 by nonexperts) across eight matches, we examined communication characteristics, such as content, frequency, pace, and distribution. Expert teams communicated more frequently and effectively than nonexpert teams, using predominantly factual and action-related statements while maintaining a significantly faster communication pace.

Researchers traditionally calculate growth rates using the natural logarithm of optical density (OD), with existing script packages facilitating this process. Automatic plate readers, capable of simultaneously measuring OD across 384 cultures, significantly enhance data collection efficiency. Furthermore, these readers also measure luminescence and fluorescence, providing valuable insights into gene expression.

Background: Current guidelines for monitoring aortic stenosis (AS) progression focus on serial echocardiographic assessment, which is resource-intensive and subject to variability. Artificial intelligence may offer an opportunity to enhance the early identification of patients at risk of developing severe AS.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to create an echo-based model that can predict whether a patient will deteriorate from mild/moderate AS to severe AS.

It is a fundamental of behavior that different individuals see the world in a largely similar manner. This is an essential basis for humans' ability to cooperate and communicate. However, what are the neural properties that underlie these inter-subject commonalities of our visual world? Finding out what aspects of neural coding remain invariant across individuals' brains will shed light not only on this fundamental question but will also point to the neural coding scheme at the basis of visual perception.

This perspective critically evaluates the global potential of drug repurposing strategies in oncology to advance health equity and sustainable innovation. Drug repurposing, especially with off-patent medications, offers significant advantages, including reduced costs, shortened timelines for clinical implementation, and enhanced approval success rates compared to new drug development. Herein, we advocate for leveraging of repurposing as a scientifically sound and ethically responsible strategy, while acknowledging the implementation barriers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) due to global systemic inequities.

A popular intervention for increasing support for peace in violent intergroup conflicts is to describe the peaceful resolution of other conflicts. In four experiments, we tested the effectiveness of this approach in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by exposing Jewish-Israelis to information about the Northern Ireland conflict and peace process, or about tourism in Northern Ireland as a control. We found that learning about the historical peace process generally led participants to view conflicts as more malleable, their own conflict as less unique, and led to unfreezing of conflict-related beliefs.
