Microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs), formed through the degradation of larger plastic materials, are emerging pollutants of significant concern. While their impact on aquatic ecosystems is well documented, their effects on terrestrial, especially farm animals remain underexplored. This review assesses the potential threats of MPs and NPs to Bangladesh's livestock sector by analyzing the results of experimental models and environmental studies.

The rise of multidrug-resistant (MDR) microorganisms, particularly Escherichia coli, poses a significant threat to global public health, necessitating the development of alternative treatments. This study investigates the antibacterial properties of methanolic Punica granatum (pomegranate) leaf extract (MPGL) against MDR E. coli and explores its potential as a source of natural inhibitors for the CTX-M-9 beta-lactamase enzyme, a key contributor to antibiotic resistance.

The purpose of this research was to develop a hydrogel-based slow-release fertilizer for wheat cultivation. A new polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/sodium alginate (SA)/humic acid (HA)/citric acid (CA) (PSHC) hydrogel composite was synthesized, using a liquid-state crosslinking method, with citric acid serving as the crosslinker. Then, the PSHCU-hydrogel was formed by incorporating urea with PSHC-hydrogel.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative condition that causes a substantial decline in cognitive functions and affects memory, thinking abilities, and daily behavior. The most prominent hallmark of AD pathogenesis is the formation of amyloid-β plaques, among other associated pathways such as neurofibrillary tangles, mitochondrial dysfunction, neuroinflammation, and oxidative stress. Butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE), an acetylcholine-degrading enzyme, plays a critical role in the progression of Alzheimer's disease, particularly through its involvement in amyloid-β plaque formation.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms are the most prevalent type of DNA variation occurring at a single nucleotide within the genomic sequence. The AVPR1a gene exhibits genetic polymorphism and is linked to neurological and developmental problems, including autism spectrum disorder. Due to the difficulties of studying all non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms (nsSNPs) of the AVPR1a gene in the general population, our goal is to use a computational approach to identify the most detrimental nsSNPs of the AVPR1a gene.

Malachite green (MG), a suggestive chemical for tumor development and carcinogenicity, is widely used as an illicit food coloring agent, posing risks to consumers and handlers. This study aimed to assess the toxic effects of MG in both plant and animal models. Different doses of MG (375, 750, and 1500 mg/L) were applied for 24 h to evaluate root growth inhibition, mitotic index (MI), and chromosomal aberrations in Allium cepa L.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) poses a significant risk for diabetes patients, often leading to severe complications. Early and accurate CKD stage detection is crucial for timely intervention. However, it remains challenging due to its asymptomatic progression, the oversight of routine CKD tests during diabetes checkups, and limited access to nephrologists.

: Dengue virus (DENV) is the fatal pathogenic arthropod-borne virus (arboviruses) that belongs to the family, which transmits to humans through mosquito bites from infected and mosquitoes or maternal-fetal transmission. Despite antigenic differences, the four serotypes of DENV (DENV-1 to DENV-4) share 65-78% of their genome. Non-structural (NS) proteins amongst serotypes show analogous functions.

This is useful for studying shallow-water waves, coastal engineering, fluid mechanics, and plasma physics. We use a variable relation to transform the model's partial differential form into an ordinary one.

The management of sanitation systems in unsewered cities in low and middle income countries is a critical issue, yet it is unclear where the risk hotspots are and where interventions should be focused. This study utilised a prototype model, developed by the authors, to map the spatial pattern of faecal flow in Rajshahi city, a secondary city in northwest Bangladesh with a population around a million. This city serves as a representative example of 60 such secondary cities in Bangladesh and hundreds more in the economically developing region in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

TRIM71 NHL Domain is a critical driver of various cellular process and is dysregulated in several medical conditions like non-small cell lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and congenital hydrocephalus. However, its pathways and binding with CDKN1A has not been well studied. To investigate its interaction with CDKN1A, we expressed TRIM71 NHL domain in SF9 (Spodoptera frugiperda) insect cells using the pFastBacTM HT B plasmid, was purified by size exclusion chromatography and its crystal structure was determined successfully (PDB ID: 9JUR).

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a crucial risk factor for both colorectal cancer (CRC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, so far, there was no study that has investigated common drugs against HCC and CRC during their co-occurrence with T2D patients. Consequently, patients often require multiple disease-specific multiple drugs, which can lead toxicities and adverse effects to the patients due to drug-drug interactions.
