A growing literature shows that fathers play a critical role in their children's development and mental health. However, few studies have evaluated fathers as caregivers and attachment figures, particularly across cultures. We address this gap by investigating specific predictors of infant-father attachment patterns during the first year postpartum and their links to infant-father attachment at 12 months.

Preterm birth, defined as birth before 37 weeks of gestation, affects approximately one in ten live-born infants globally. The risks and potential complications are more pronounced in infants born before 32 weeks, particularly those born before 28 weeks, necessitating specialized monitoring of developmental outcomes. Traditional developmental assessments often rely on performance-based observations, which can be subjective, and may not detect subtle or delayed difficulties that emerge later, such as in school-age children.

Previous research has shown that antibiotic use during the first year is associated with infants' difficult behavior, maternal low sensitivity, and infant insecure-ambivalent attachment. However, these results may depend on the extent and type of parental involvement, paternal stress related to infant care, or the infant's exposure to infections. To explore this question, we analyzed the relationship between these factors and examined potential predictors of antibiotic use among demographic, health, and psychological variables.

Introduction: Carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic gas that can be lethal in large doses and may also cause physiological damage in lower doses. Epidemiological studies suggest that CO in lower doses over time may impact on embryo development, in particular cardiac development, however other studies have not observed this association.
Methods: Here, we exposed chick embryos in ovo to CO at three different concentrations (3, 9, 18 ppm) plus air control (4 protocols in total) for the first 9 days of development, at which point we assessed egg and embryo weight, ankle length, developmental stage, heart weight, ventricular wall thickness, ventricular-septal thickness and atrial wall thickness.

Over the past twenty years, the use of electronic mobile sensors by children and youngsters has played a significant role in environmental education projects in Portugal. This paper describes a research synthesis of a set of case studies (environmental education projects) on the use of sensors as epistemic mediators, evidencing the technological, environmental, social, and didactical dimensions of environmental education projects over the last two decades in Portugal. The triggers of the identified changes include: (i) the evolution of sensors, information and communication platforms, and mobile devices; (ii) the increasing relevance of environmental citizenship and participation; (iii) the recognition of the role of multisensory situated information and quantitative information in environmental citizenship; (iv) the cause-effect relation between didactical strategies and environmental education goals; (v) the potential of sensory and epistemic learners' practices in the environment to produce learning outcomes and new knowledge.

The [1,2,3]-triazolo [1,5-a] quinoxalin-4(5)-one scaffold and its analogues triazole-fused heterocyclic compounds are relevant structural templates in both natural and synthetic biologically active compounds. However, their medicinal chemistry applications are often limited due to the lack of synthetic protocols combining straightforward generation of the central core while also allowing extensive decoration activity for drug discovery purposes. Herein, we report a "refreshed" synthesis of the [1,2,3]-triazolo [1,5-]quinoxalin-4(5)-one core, encompassing the use of eco-compatible catalysts and reaction conditions.

Lignin is the second most abundant natural polymer next to cellulose and by far the largest renewable source of aromatic compounds on the planet. Dye-decolourising peroxidases (DyPs) are biocatalysts with immense potential in lignocellulose biorefineries to valorize emerging lignin building blocks for environmentally friendly chemicals and materials. This work investigates the catalytic potential of the engineered PpDyP variant 6E10 for the oxidation of 24 syringyl, guaiacyl and hydroxybenzene lignin-phenolic derivatives.

Friction Stir Spot Welding (FSSW) is assumed as an environment-friendly technique, suitable for the spot welding of several materials. Nevertheless, it is consensual that the temperature control during the process is not feasible, since the exact heat generation mechanisms are still unknown. In current work, the heat generation in FSSW of aluminium alloys, was assessed by producing bead-on-plate spot welds using pinless tools.
