Due to the physical, psychological, or socioeconomic changes that accompany aging, many people will be affected by geriatric frailty syndrome, which can lead to multimorbidity and premature death. Nutrition counseling is often used to prevent and intervene in frailty syndrome, especially in geriatric rehabilitation. To this end, the consumption behavior of geriatric patients is recorded using paper-based, as well as retrospective memory logs in face-to-face interviews between patients and nutritionists.

The crowding of emergency departments (ED) has been a growing problem for years, putting the care of critically ill patients increasingly at risk. The INDEED project's overall aim is to get a better understanding of ED utilization and to evaluate corresponding primary health care use patterns before and after an ED visit while driving forward processes and methods of cross-sectoral data merging. We aim to identify adequate utilization of EDs and potentially avoidable patient contacts as well as subgroups and clusters of patients with similar care profiles.

Cybersecurity in PACS and Medical Imaging: an Overview.

This article provides an overview on the literature published on the topic of cybersecurity for PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems) and medical imaging. From a practical perspective, PACS specific security measures must be implemented together with the measures applicable to the IT infrastructure as a whole, in order to prevent incidents such as PACS systems exposed to access from the Internet. Therefore, the article first offers an overview of the physical, technical and organizational mitigation measures that are proposed in literature on cybersecurity in healthcare information technology in general, followed by an overview on publications discussing specific cybersecurity topics that apply to PACS and medical imaging and present the "building blocks" for a secure PACS environment available in the literature.

Due to the energy turnaround in German politics, it is necessary to integrate more and more wind and solar energy into the existing energy system. In particular, power generation is changing from a previously centralized to a decentralized structure, which also has consequences for requirements for safe, reliable and efficient grid operation. Generation and utilization characteristics will become more dynamic and flexible in the future.

Application of Activity Trackers among Nursing Home Residents-A Pilot and Feasibility Study on Physical Activity Behavior, Usage Behavior, Acceptance, Usability and Motivational Impact.

The aim of this study was to assess physical activity and sedentary behavior, as well as the usage behavior, usability, acceptance, and motivational impact of an applied activity tracker among nursing home residents. Physical activity and usage behavior were measured among 22 residents (68 to 102 years) by use of a commercial activity tracker worn during waking hours for 77 days on average. Usability, acceptance, and motivational impact of the tracker were examined using an adapted questionnaire.

Cybersecurity Challenges for PACS and Medical Imaging.

Cybersecurity issues have been on the rise for years, increasingly affecting the healthcare sector. In 2019, several attacks have been published that specifically aim at medical network protocols and file formats, in particular digital imaging and communications in medicine. This article describes five attack scenarios on picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) and medical imaging networks: the import of patient data from storage media containing malware, a compromise of the hospital network, malware embedded in digital imaging and communications in medicine images or reports, a malicious manipulation of medical images and a network infiltration of malicious health level seven messages.

Implementation and Effects of Information Technology-Based and Print-Based Interventions to Promote Physical Activity Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Protocol for a Randomized Crossover Trial.

Background: Despite the known health benefits of physical activity (PA), less than half and less than one-third of older adults in Germany reach the PA recommendations for endurance training and strength training, respectively, of the World Health Organization. The aim of this study is to investigate the implementation and effectiveness over the course of 9 months of two interventions (information technology [IT]-based vs print-based) for PA promotion among initially inactive older adults in a randomized, crossover trial. Objective: In this work, we propose a new care concept for dementia patients in their own apartments: interconnected living in a quarter. We describe a technical setup that is comprised of a safety system and an activity detection system. The latter detects, processes and illustrates activities of daily living to help the quarter managers to provide appropriate interventions for persons with dementia in the quarter.
