This study reports the synthesis, characterization, and multifunctional sensing capabilities of a novel quinoline-based Schiff base ligand (L), designed for selective and sensitive detection of Ni, Cu, Zn ions, and CO⁻ anions. L exhibits distinct colorimetric responses visible to the naked eye-pale yellow to amber red for Ni, caramel brown for Cu, and canary yellow for Zn-enabling efficient and straightforward detection. Fluorescence studies reveal a selective green fluorescence "turn-on" response for Zn, complemented by fluorescence quenching in the presence of CO⁻, demonstrating the ligand's reusability and robustness.

Department of Electrical Engineering, Parul Institute of Engineering & Technology, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat, India.

This paper presents a coordinated voltage and frequency control strategy for a wind-integrated deregulated dual-area power system comprising three Generation Companies (GENCOs), diesel, thermal, and wind-and three Distribution Companies (DISCOs) in each area. A Harris Hawks Optimization-based Model Predictive Controller (MPC-HHO) is proposed to enhance system performance under three distinct market scenarios: poolco, bilateral, and contract violation modes. The proposed controller is benchmarked against conventional PID, fractional-order PIDF, and MPC schemes optimized via Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA).

In this research work quantum neural network using simple harmonic oscillator perturbed by an electric field is proposed. This work demonstrated that it is possible to generate a time varying wave function in Schrodinger's equation by controlling the electric field applied to a quantum harmonic oscillator, whose modulus square tracks a given probability density function (PDF). The adaptation scheme for the control electric field is generated via stochastic gradient algorithm.

Raman spectroscopy is a powerful, non-invasive analytical technique that enables rapid identification of molecules based on their unique spectral fingerprints. Its sensitivity has been significantly enhanced through the use of metal nanoparticles in Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), where molecules adsorbed on rough metallic surfaces or colloids produce Raman signals amplified by several orders of magnitude. This enhancement has opened new possibilities for molecular detection, particularly in surface chemistry and biomedical diagnostics.

This study examines the microstructural evolution, mechanical properties, and wear behavior of medium-carbon dual-phase steel (AISI 1040) processed via Multi-Axis Compression (MAC). The DP steel was produced through inter-critical annealing at 745 °C, followed by MAC at 500 °C, resulting in a refined grain microstructure. Optical micrographs confirmed the presence of ferrite and martensite phases after annealing, with significant grain refinement observed following MAC.

Stereoselective Synthesis of Functionalized Indenes Regioselective Cascade Iodoalkylation of Alkynes.

J Org Chem

July 2025

Synthetic Organic Chemistry Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi 110007, India.

Herein, an unprecedented and modular strategy for the stereoselective construction of functionalized indene scaffolds has been developed a base-promoted, regioselective cascade iodoalkylation of alkynes. Michael addition of methanol to the carbon-carbon double bond initiated the consecutive formation of C-O, C-C, and C-I bonds in a single operation. The product features an exocyclic double bond and versatile functional groups (-CN, -COOEt, -I, -OMe), offering scope for transformation into biologically active pharmacophores.

Computational and Structural Biology Laboratory, Department of Biological Sciences and Engineering, Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Dwarka, New Delhi, 110078, India. Electronic address:

Growth factor receptor-bound protein 2 (Grb2) plays a critical role in proliferative diseases by binding phosphotyrosine residues on target proteins leading to activation of key pathways. The phosphotyrosyl motif of Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) has been utilized as a pharmacophore to identify small molecules that disrupt its interaction with the Grb2 Src Homology 2 (SH2) domain. In this study, we report the hit-to-lead optimization of 11,12,479 synthesizable analogs of previously identified Grb2-SH2 antagonists via virtual screening using AutoDock Vina v1.
