Objectives: to evaluate the effect of smear-layer deproteinization using papain gel and SPRG-adhesive on marginal-gap, anti-demineralization of enamel and dentin after chemical pH cycling and assess acid-base resistance zone (ABRZ) characteristics.

Methods: Cylindrical cavities were prepared cervically in thirty-two extracted premolars. Teeth were divided into two pretreatment groups (n=16); deproteinization with papain enzyme gel (Papacarie Due, Brazil) for 60 second, and no-deproteinization.

Pandemic-induced uncertainty exacerbates intimate partner violence (IPV), as the stress from health and economic crises amplifies tensions within households. The heightened violence calls attention to the immediate requirement for extensive support systems and policies to protect those who are susceptible during such unprecedented periods. This research aims to investigate how uncertainty stemming from the pandemic affects IPV in 10 selected economies from diverse regions (USA, South Africa, Brazil, India, Germany, Australia, Mexico, Nigeria, Japan, and the Philippines).

Background: Flexible and navigable suction ureteral access sheaths (FANS) have proven to be effective in reducing operative time and infectious complications and in increasing stone-free rate during retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). FANS may reduce intrarenal pressure, thus reducing parenchymal renal damage. The aim of the present study was to assess acute kidney injury (AKI) rate following RIRS with FANS.

Protective Mechanism Pathway of Extract Nanoparticles against Cardiac Cell Damage in Diabetic Rats.

Pharmaceuticals (Basel)

July 2023

Department of Basic Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University, Surabaya 60115, Indonesia.

Hyperglycemia causes cardiac cell damage through increasing ROS production during diabetic complications. The current study proves the antioxidant activity of () extract nanoparticles as a protector against streptozotocin (STZ)-induced cardiac cell damage. In this research, high-energy ball milling is used to create extract nanoparticles.

Background: Heart rate recovery (HRR) has been used as a prognostication marker of health. A slower drop in HRR is linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases and all-cause mortality. Since aerobic exercise has been shown to have favorable effects on HRR, we aimed to compare the effects of two different aerobic exercise doses on HRR among a sedentary adult population.

Non-accidental injury (NAI) is not an uncommon problem worldwide, which leads to significant morbidity and mortality in infants. The presence of retinal or subdural haemorrhages, or encephalopathy with injuries inconsistent with the clinical history is highly suggestive of NAI. In this study, we report on a case of a a 3-month-old infant who presented to the casualty department with a very sudden onset of recurrent generalised tonic-clonic seizures.
