Research suggests that Problem Gambling (PG) may result from maladaptive emotional regulation strategies aimed at escaping emotions and stress caused by negative life events and trauma. The current study, aimed to examine the effect of exposure to the mass trauma of October 7, 2023 terror attack and the consequent Swords of Iron war in Israel, and difficulties in emotional regulation on PG. We utilized longitudinal data of self-reports in the Problem Gambling Severity Index collected before the terror attack (April 2022) and during the Swords of Iron war (December 2023, March 2024, June 2024; N = 899) from a large sample of adult Jewish Israelis.

The Complex Issue of Trust of Israel's Jewish Religious Community in Health Care and Religious Institutions Involved in Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Many religious Jews resisted COVID-19 measures intended to reduce mortality and morbidity. This study examined Israeli religious Jews' trust levels in healthcare and religious institutions and adherence to government COVID-19 guidelines, via an online survey of 459 Israeli religious, primarily ultra-Orthodox (Haredi), Jews. Bivariate analyses found that most respondents trusted rabbis and charitable/social services regarding COVID-19 guidelines, while under half trusted the four healthcare-related entities examined.

Wartime stress and relapse risk in people with multiple sclerosis: a prospective cohort study.

Introduction: Psychological stress has been proposed as a trigger for disease activity in multiple sclerosis (MS), but findings have been inconsistent. While prior research has focused largely on chronic stressors, little is known about how people with MS (pwMS) cope with acute, large-scale stress events such as war.

Objective: Examine the effects of wartime stress following the October 7, 2023 attack on disease activity in pwMS, and to assess whether emotional factors are associated with relapse risk during this period.

Objective: To investigate adverse pregnancy and delivery outcomes in women with GDMA1 during pregnancies conceived through fertility treatments.

Methods: This population-based retrospective cohort study examined adverse pregnancy and delivery outcomes in pregnancies affected by GDMA1 following fertility treatments compared to those conceived naturally. Women with GDMA1 who conceived via fertility treatments were classified as cases, while those who conceived naturally were designated as controls.

Background: Examinations are used widely in nursing education to evaluate knowledge attainment. New item types were initiated in April 2023 by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) for use on the Next Generation National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NGN NCLEX-RN). The increased workload and constant fear for life can cause significant stress and depression among healthcare workers (HCWs). The aim of this study was to measure psychological stress, depression, and their causes in HCWs who practiced in the Gaza strip since the 2023 Israel-Gaza war. We conducted a cross-sectional survey between April 2024 and January 2025 for Palestinian and international HCWs who practiced in the Gaza strip after October 7, 2023.

Can Communication Skills Be Taught in a Multidisciplinary Maternal Fetal Care Center?

Objective: To evaluate a structured communication training for providers performing prenatal counseling for patients presenting to a multidisciplinary maternal fetal care center.

Method: Providers who care for pregnant patients with high-risk fetal conditions participated in two half-day virtual training sessions using the VitalTalk methodology. In each session, providers learned the methodology and then participated in role-play with standardized actors.
