Importance: This study represents a first successful use of a genetic biomarker to select potential responders in a prospective study in psychiatry. Liafensine, a triple reuptake inhibitor, may become a new precision medicine for treatment-resistant depression (TRD), a major unmet medical need.
Objective: To determine whether ANK3-positive patients with TRD benefit from a 1-mg and/or 2-mg daily oral dose of liafensine, compared with placebo, in a clinical trial.

Importance: Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors are highly effective medications for several immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs). However, safety concerns have led to regulatory restrictions.
Objective: To compare the risk of adverse events with JAK inhibitors vs tumor necrosis factor (TNF) antagonists in patients with IMIDs in head-to-head comparative effectiveness studies.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of combining levocarnitine with tadalafil in treating oligozoospermia and asthenozoospermia and to analyze its effects on serum sex hormone levels and sexual function.
Methods: A total of 80 patients diagnosed with oligozoospermia or asthenozoospermia at our hospital between March 2023 and February 2024 were randomly divided into two groups, A and B, with 40 patients each. Group A received levocarnitine combined with tadalafil, while Group B was administered levocarnitine alone.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of add-on metformin treatment in persons with active epilepsy (a-PWE). This is a single-centric, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial randomised a-PWE (1:1) to receive either metformin (extended-release 500 mg) or matching placebo for 6 months along with background antiseizure medications. Primary outcome was percentage change in seizure frequency/month, and secondary outcomes were 50% responder rate, serum mTOR expression, and serum total antioxidant capacity (TAC), body composition analysis, quality of life (QOL), and safety assessment.

Background: Pituitary adenomas are relatively common benign intracranial tumors that may cause significant hormonal imbalances and visual impairments. Radiotherapy (RT) remains an important treatment option, particularly for patients with residual tumor after surgery, recurrent disease, or ongoing hormonal hypersecretion. This study summarizes long-term clinical outcomes and radiation-associated toxicities in patients with pituitary adenomas treated with contemporary radiotherapy techniques at a single institution.
