Crop growth rate is a critical physiological trait for forage and bioenergy crops like sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench], influencing overall crop productivity, particularly in photoperiod-sensitive (PS) types. Crop growth rate studies focus on either a physiological approach utilizing a few genotypes to analyze biomass accumulation or a genetic approach characterizing easily scorable proxy traits in larger populations.

Optical manipulation techniques have been widely applied in the biomedical field. However, the key issues limiting the efficiency of optical manipulation techniques are the weak driving force of optical scattering and the small working range of optical gradient forces. The optothermal Marangoni convection enables effective control of flow fields through optical means, and particle manipulation based on this mechanism offers advantages such as a wide working range, strong driving force, and high flexibility.

Active flexible filaments form the classical continuum framework for modelling the locomotion of spermatozoa and algae driven by the periodic oscillation of flagella. This framework also applies to the locomotion of various artificial swimmers. Classical studies have quantified the relationship between internal forcing (localized or distributed internal moments or forces) and external output (filament shape and swimming speed).

Enhancing the energy conversion efficiency of fuel cells necessitates optimization of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) under high-voltage conditions through improved Pt catalysis. This study introduces an electrocatalyst that uniformly anchors a high loading (40 wt%) of small Pt nanoparticles (3.2 nm) on a novel support: tellurium and nitrogen co-mediated graphitized mesoporous carbon (Te-N-GMC).

Saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR is a robust, versatile technique for detecting small molecules binding to large receptors. In addition to identifying binding molecules in the presence of nonbinding molecules, the STD-NMR technique can be used to determine epitope maps and binding constants. In recent years, this technique has been applied to small molecules interacting with nanoparticles.
