Transmission lines are widely distributed in complex environments, making them susceptible to foreign object intrusion, which could lead to serious consequences, i.e., power outages. Currently, foreign object detection on transmission lines is primarily conducted through UAV-based field inspections. However, the captured data must be transmitted back to a central facility for analysis, resulting in low efficiency and the inability to perform real-time, industrial-grade detection. Although recent YOLO series models can be deployed on UAVs for object detection, these models' substantial computational requirements often exceed the processing capabilities of UAV platforms, limiting their ability to perform real-time inference tasks. In this study, we propose a novel lightweight detection algorithm, SCL-YOLOv8, which is based on the original YOLO model. We introduce StarNet to replace the CSPDarknet53 backbone as the feature extraction network, thereby reducing computational complexity while maintaining high feature extraction efficiency. We design a lightweight module, CGLU-ConvFormer, which enhances multi-scale feature representation and local feature extraction by integrating convolutional operations with gating mechanisms. Furthermore, the detection head of the original YOLO model is improved by introducing shared convolutional layers and group normalization, which helps reduce redundant computations and enhances multi-scale feature fusion. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model not only improves the detection accuracy but also significantly reduces the number of model parameters. Specifically, SCL-YOLOv8 achieves a mAP@0.5 of 94.2% while reducing the number of parameters by 56.8%, FLOPS by 45.7%, and model size by 50% compared with YOLOv8n.

Despite having published seventeen novels, a good number of short stories, and scripts since she started her writing career at the end of the 1970s, academic work on Moggach's literary career has mainly dealt with her novel These Foolish Things (2004) and its film version The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011). This paper will focus on Moggach's last three novels in which the reader is guided by the voice of three women in their late sixties and seventies, namely Something to Hide (2015), The Carer (2019), and The Black Dress (2021). Following an already well-established body of criticism on representations of female ageing in fiction, this paper will argue that Moggach's last novels add nuance and richness to the representation of female ageing in the twenty-first century.

Purpose: To present a case of synthetic intrastromal corneal ring segment (ICRS) intrusion secondary to necrosis and migration, managed by implantation of corneal allogenic intrastromal ring segments (CAIRS) within the preexisting tunnel.
Methods: A 24-year-old man with known keratoconus underwent bilateral ICRS implantation. He presented with blurred vision in the right eye 6 weeks after the procedure.

Purpose: To evaluate tilt, decentration, and axial stability of the Clareon toric intraocular lens (TIOL) (CNW0T3-9; Alcon Laboratories, Inc) over a 6-month follow-up period.
Methods: A single-center, prospective, interventional clinical trial was conducted with a study population of 130 eyes from 82 patients who received a Clareon TIOL. Tilt, decentration, and the aqueous depth were determined preoperatively and at 1 week and 6 months postoperatively using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (Casia 2; Tomey Corporation).

Foreign body ingestion in children, especially those aged 6 months to 3 years, is a common clinical concern. While most objects pass through the gastrointestinal tract uneventfully, some may result in obstruction and necessitate surgical intervention. We report a rare case of a 10-year-old child with autism who presented with small bowel obstruction following ingestion of a rubber feeding bottle nipple.
