Innovations in sensing materials and microstructure design have led to significant progress in highly sensitive resistive pressure sensors for position recognition. Sensitive layer materials such as conductive hydrogels, carbon-based materials, MXenes, and metallic fillers have greatly enhanced sensor performance. Meanwhile, surface microstructures like domes and micropillars, along with internal porous structures, have further improved pressure sensitivity and spatial resolution. This review summarizes these recent advances and highlights future challenges such as the realization of high-density arrays, suppression of signal crosstalk, and improvements in fabrication processes.

Hypervirulent (hvKp) and classical multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains belong to distinct lineages and hvKp are typically characterized by hypermucoid capsules that have been shown to limit horizontal gene transfer (HGT), including plasmid acquisition. However, the convergence of hypervirulence and MDR is increasingly common worldwide. When we profiled 127 antibiotic-susceptible hvKp strains, we found that most (86%) are highly permissive to plasmid transfer despite their capsules.

Essential oils (EOs) are a promising alternative to conventional pesticides, but some challenges like high volatility, poor water solubility, and rapid degradation limit their use in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). To overcome these limitations, this study aimed to develop garlic, eucalyptus, and clove EO-based nano-emulsions (EO-NEs) in a bait treatment format through the high-pressure microfluidization technique and investigated the biological activities against Ceratitis capitata. In addition, the adverse effects of the most promising nano-emulsion were evaluated towards a non-target parasitoid Anagaspis daci.

Basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors are essential regulators of various biological processes, including growth, development, and stress responses in eukaryotes. Despite their importance, the specific roles of bHLH factors in entomopathogenic fungi remain inadequately understood. In this study, we identified and characterized the bHLH transcription factor MrbHLH2 in the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii, which is widely used in biological control.

Purpose: Asthma and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) are two respiratory diseases that often may coexist, resulting in Alternative Overlap Syndrome (aOVS), which is still underestimated and underdiagnosed.
Objectives: This state-of-art review aims to describe the current evidence on aOVS, including its pathophysiology, clinical, functional and therapeutic implications. A secondary objective is to assess whether aOVS can be identified as a distinct endophenotype needing personalized diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
