Article Abstract

The development of dual fluorescence sensors is crucial for reliable and sensitive antibiotic detection. This study reports two isostructural heterobimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which are formulated as {[(CH)NH][ZnM(O)(BTC)]·2HO} (M = Co (), Ni (), and HBTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) with a (3,6)-connected three-dimensional (3D) dual-channel framework, showing excellent chemical stability and tunable fluorescence. Notably, these MOFs enable ultrasensitive sensing of chloramphenicol (CAP), nitrofurantoin (NFT), nitrofurazone (NFZ), and tetracycline (TC). Density functional theory (DFT) simulations show CAP adsorbs on the compound surface through hydrogen bonding, without FRET. Conversely, NFT, NFZ, and TC quenching involves competitive adsorption and FRET. The dual fluorescence sensors enable ultrasensitive detection, with limits of detection (LOD) for CAP reaching 108.70 ppm (Compound , Zn/Co-MOF) and 142.70 ppm (Compound , Zn/Ni-MOF). For quenching-based detection, sub-30 ppm sensitivity is achieved: NFT (29.80 ppm for ; 28.40 ppm for ), NFZ (26.30 ppm for and 27.90 ppm for ), and TC (24.70 ppm for and 43.40 ppm for ). Furthermore, the sensor demonstrates superior anti-interference capabilities and consistent performance in complex environments, such as tap water and milk. This work not only pioneers a heterobimetallic design strategy for tunable MOF-based sensors but also demonstrates their practical utility in environmental monitoring and food safety.

In this study, a MoC-MoO@NCrGO-900 composite catalyst comprising two-dimensional nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (NCrGO) and ultrasmall molybdenum carbide-molybdenum dioxide (MoC-MoO) heterojunctions was synthesized. The optimized catalyst exhibited an outstanding oxidative desulfurization (ODS) performance. Specifically, a model oil containing 4000 ppm sulfur was completely desulfurized within 30 min, with a desulfurization efficiency of 98.

A novel gourd-type photoacoustic cell (GTPAC) has been developed, featuring a highly reflective, polished gold film-coated inner wall that minimizes optical loss and maximizes light utilization efficiency. GTPAC integrates two coupled spherical chambers with a radius ratio 2:3, which is close to the golden ratio. Its unique Gaussian curvature distribution enables multi-directional, disordered light beam reflection without complex optical alignment.

Background: Mitral valve surgery is a widely performed intervention for the treatment of various mitral valve pathologies. Postoperative conduction disturbances may necessitate permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation. This study aims to identify and quantify patient-related, cardiovascular, procedural risk factors, and risk score-based predictors of PPM implantation following mitral valve surgery.

Fisetin modulates fluoride induced osteochondral toxicity in zebrafish larvae.

Department of Biotechnology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Electronic address:

Excessive fluoride (F) exposure, particularly during early development, poses a significant risk to skeletal integrity by disrupting bone homeostasis through oxidative stress and altered mineralization. While F induced oxidative stress is well documented, studies investigating the role of natural antioxidants in mitigating F induced osteochondral toxicity remains limited. Hence, the present study investigated the osteomodulatory effect of fisetin (Fis) against F toxicity in zebrafish larvae.
